From the publisher:
Founded in 2009, Engine Publishing is a small press RPG publishing company dedicated to creating insanely good gaming products.
I’m Martin Ralya, the founder and owner of Engine Publishing. I’m a proposal writer by day and a GMing blogger by night, and I run Engine Publishing from my home office in Utah. I was a freelancer for the RPG industry from 2004-2009, with 25 published credits. Between the GMing blog Gnome Stew, which I run and contribute to, and Treasure Tables, which I used to run and still maintain, I’ve written close to a thousand articles for game masters since 2005. I live in Utah with my amazing wife, Alysia, and our beautiful daughter, Lark, in a house full of books and games.
Engine Publishing exists to bring you products that will make your gaming more fun, at a fair price. I’ve been gaming since 1987, and I’m an incredibly picky consumer: As a gamer, I expect RPG publishers to respect my time and money, and as a publisher I respect yours. Every product released by Engine Publishing is a labor of love, and something I believe you’ll love as much I do.
I started Engine Publishing in 2009 in order to publish Gnome Stew’s first book, Eureka: 501 Adventure Plots to Inspire Game Masters, which debuted in 2010, and to give myself an avenue for publishing future RPG products. Since then, our books have gone on to sell over 15,000 copies and have been nominated for and won RPG industry awards.
I treat the skilled and talented folks who work on Engine Publishing projects the way I want to be treated as a freelancer. As a publisher I pay on time, use clear contracts, and strive to make it a pleasure to freelance for Engine Publishing.
