I didn't realise quite how many A games I own 'til I just checked my collection!!
And working on the assumption I can play johnnyalpha's 'Agricola' ;), my decision is.....

[thing=8051][/thing]

I don't play this nearly as often as I should, and it scales really well between 2 and 4.

Honourable mentions should also go to

Arkadia
Australia

Mike suggests that we should all select an "A" game from our own collections for a listener Time capsule.

I've only got a few "A" games which makes it easy:

Agricola
Archaeology: The card game
Army of Frogs
Aton
Ave Caesar

I like them all but I'm going to keep Agricola. It's the only game you can play solo. Aton is 2 player and Army of Frogs really needs 4. Ave Caesar is fun but needs lots of people. Archaeology is ace but just loses out on this round despite being quick, easy to teach and fun.

I'm going to smuggle Ave Caesar into the Gamescape time capsule to annoy Si.

We could all look at your game collections and pick one game to keep or a particularly nasty game to put on the compost instead of in the time capsule.

So Dabbawalla? Time capsule or compost? Hmmmmmm. Are we ever going to see that game in the wild?

Great Show, and thanks for talking about my Decathlon!

A letter for games is tough, but I think I would rather have Le Harve than Agricola so it would come down to Ave Caesar and Amun-Re for me and I would take Amun Re in the end, I play alot of 5 player games in my gaming circles.

Well, I voted yes as well. Like one other listener this encouraged me to set up a game decathlon with some of my long standing gaming buddies I've known for years. Real life(!) and the fact three of us live in Sheffield and three in Leeds mean that we'd only get together as a group maybe once or twice a year at most. There's nothing like a little friendly competition / meta-gaming to spark interest and now we hook up every 2-3 months.

So far we've played:

Age of Empires III
History of the World
Liberte
Railroad Tycoon
Republic of Rome
Age of Renaissance
Here I Stand

and next Sunday we're playing Princes of the Renaissance.

Its got us all back into gaming and meeting up with each other and having a laugh. We've also played a few games inbetween when we can't all get together at the same time (like Sword of Rome when I warned everybody else to treat the combat system with caution as it was fairly brutal and then did two gung ho attacks with the Greeks rolling seven 1's out of eight dice - then followed for me 4 hours of nothing but clinging on and recruiting - boy did I take some stick for that!!!) and head to head games of Hammer of the Scots and Twilight Struggle. Its taken us probably about 16 months to get this far but we're still going strong.

I think the Decathlon is one of your USPs compared with other Podcasts and enjoy the competitive edge it brought to your gaming wittering (particularly when Paul went on his unprecented winning streak a few months ago). However,if you think its run its course for the show then fair enough, but thanks a lot.

Chris.
