I wasn't going to pick up the Small World expansions at first, but then I learned that they were only ten bucks each. So yeah, I own [thing=57072]them[/thing] [thing=57070]both[/thing] now (although apparently there's a [thing=60054]third[/thing] now/soon?). Looking forward to giving them a whirl, although some of these powers seem crazy.

But where do I keep the new race tokens? The carefully-crafted box insert wasn't designed with expansion in mind!

EDIT: Hmm, "Leaders" was a Spiel giveaway. Ok then.

It's supposed to be to stores by mid-December, but we'll see how close FRED can actually come to that target. My guess is that making it GotM! for January might be wishful thinking anyway...

Plus, we were thinking that Endeavor might be a good selection for January. We don't have to set it in stone right now or anything, but we could potentially have GotM! candidates through February now, which is kinda cool.

November - Tribune: Primus Inter Pares
December - Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age
January - Endeavor
February - Carson City
March - ????

Yep! Read the rules through several times and it looks like a winner. I've already told Denise to put me down for a copy when they come in. I'll be out of the state and perhaps even the country for a lot of January for work, so it'd be great if we didn't game of the month this title until Feb.

Even if no one else picks it up, I should be there every week, and I can leave my copy with someone or at Hypermind if I know that I'll be out.

I'm not sure about Mark, but I'm pretty sure that Chip would be agreeable with this. My three picks for GotM for November would be Endeavor, Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age or Tribune.

Also I would like my one thousand game of RftG be a six-player game at Hypermind on one of the Tuesday Game Nights in November, I'm thinking I should be at 999 games by the 17th or 24th.

You know what makes playing Bang! a lot easier?

Being the Deputy in a game with only one such role. You know exactly who you shouldn't shoot ever (the Sheriff) and who you need to kill (everyone else, regardless of order).

Of course, some of that ease is mitigated if your Sheriff is James, but he actually played it VERY well once it came down to just the Deputy and the Renegade last night. Keeping Alton and I as even as possible was the correct play in retrospect; if the Renegade prevailed, it would be that much easier to handle him.

Cat Balou'ing my Volcanic was still a bonehead move even if I wasn't the Deputy, but hey.

Plus, without you, Chip, and Mark it didn't feel like we had a proper quorum anyway.

I picked up Dixit this week if we want to make sure multiple copies of the GotM are available for November (although it doesn't really strike me as a game that would benefit from weekly sessions). That's really the issue here; we have a lot of solid choices, but they're single copies whose owners might not be available every week. We've worked around that before, of course.

December will sort itself out over the next couple of weeks, but Roll Through the Ages still seems like the best bet there.

Truth be told? Our "tradition" only applies to one of our nearly three years now, thanks to last year being ZVONN (or TZARR, I forget).

Zombiegeddon could pair up with Hey! That's My Fish!, as the two games are essentially cousins. ("Hey! That's my Zombie!"?)

I haven't played it yet, but Roll Through the Ages seems like it might be best of the given choices. I do plan on picking up my own copy of Dixit soon as well.

Still, that's December's GotM if we want to stick to "tradition". November's is more pressing, since we only have one week of Witch's Brew left. Speaking of next week, that's our "demo" for Endeavor -- not that most of us need it. But right now it would be as good a choice as any for November.

Small World, Agricola, Cuba, Pandemic and Dominion have been done. Le Havre is incredibly long and I think that I own the only copy, so it's pretty much out. Wasabi!, Looting London, Sorry! Sliders and Masters Gallery are all too light to carry the load for a whole month. Catan Geographies: Germany is pretty derivative of The Settlers of Catan, of course, and I don't know if we'd consider it different "enough" to choose. Oh, and Long Shot sucks, so that's right out as well ;-)

If we want to stick with our tradition, it seems like our short list would be (in my probable order of preference):
Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age
A Castle for All Seasons
Zombiegeddon
Dixit
FITS
Snow Tails
Galaxy Trucker

The issue with all of them is that we don't have multiple copies of any (as far as I know). FITS may have multiple copies, but that's certainly bordering on being too light and one-dimensional as well.

Any other thoughts?
