I am not positive but I was fairly certain the WoG reprint was just the counter sheets and they had extra of everything else. There has not been any information on an updated manual so I would guess not. There was still some talk about living rules recently though.

They just got them back into MMP. I can not think of any reason they would not get out into the channel shortly.

I found the chaos exciting and lost as the French; blaming those darn
longbows for my defeat, as opposed to luck.
I didn't find the alignment problem a problem.
The 'off' rules seem relatively easy to tweak
Make alignments historical or change a few numbers up or down.
For initiative make it 50/50 every turn or add +1 to the previous loser's roll.
I'm saying I think it's worth the effort.
I think the choas flows back and forth evenly....IMHO; or I was just lucky
:laugh:.

Well, I guess most items are addressed in the (unofficial) FAQ posted in the files section here.
This could be a basis for the "official" errata.

For anyone interested, Warriors of God should be back in print in about two weeks.

The first print run ran out in just a few months and gaging by the interest level from many sources, it looks like this next run will be gone very quickly as well.

Get them while they are around!!

If you are looking for multi-volume go for Jonathan Sumption's "The Hundred Years War".
There are three volumes out that go until 1399. I think this series will be the standard recommendation on the topic - if hopefully the author finishes the series in his lifetime.
I've read also some shorter stuff but it is really a big difference to read Sumption's series. I think only here it's possible to get a grasp of the political-economical restrictions of the participants and the siege-attritional warfare beside the big battles.

Who knows whether the seller is even aware that the game will be reprinted? And even if they are, people sell older editions all the time when new ones are announced. I saw a couple of listings for Yalu on ConsimWorld today. Nothing to get upset about.

Good thing you're here to tell us what things are worth. Otherwise, I'd never know what something is worth to me! (Hint: things don't have inherent value; humans are the arbiters of value. My mom used to say, "The value of a thing is the price it brings." But that's only half true - the seller has a say also.)

    Seward's book didn't knock me out, and likely was overlooked at the time of its release so close to Tuchman's seminal work on the subject in A Distant Mirror. His narrative stuck to the mechanical aspects of the conflict without spending time looking at the socioeconomic issues which are so important to understanding this remarkably chaotic slice of European history.

    Thank you for the recommendations -- I will likely order Curry's book. Not a whole lot of interest in pre-renaissance European history floating around, so it's always nice to hear what others are reading.

Inspired by "Warriors of God", I recently bought two books about this important period of european history.

"The Hundred Years War" by Desmond Seward (Constable & Robinson)
ISBN: 978-1-84119-678-7
296 pages

"The Hundred Years War" by Anne Curry (Osprey Publishing, Essential Histories)
ISBN: 978-1-84176-269-2
96 pages

Anne Currys book is a short, but complete overview of the conflict known as the 100 Years War.
All major campaigns and "chevauchées"(pillaging raids) are shown on full color maps of the areas involved.

Single battles like Crecy, are only described with a few lines, as the scope of the book is more on the campaigns and the strategy of the Kings that lead to these battles.
All in all, a condensed but complete overview and intro into this conflict.

Desmons Sewards book goes more into the details, with lots of quotes from contemporary sources.
He compares the armor/weapons of both sides warriors and has more room for describing the major battles of this war.
Fascinating is the intrigue, scheming and double dealing some of the high ranking nobles engaged in.
His narrative is well written and a good read.

I can recommend both books. None of them is a multi-volume study, but both are good introductions to this interesting conflict.

After reading the books, I really admire how the designers of "Warriors of God" have captured the basics of this conflict with so few rules.

Sieges often fail w/o proper equipment. Leaders switching sides after being ransomed. Big battles do not decide who controls an area. Mercenaries that run away, when the future looks grim. Plague hits and kills leaders unexpected. Longbowmen rule the battlefield. Pinning attacks (flypaper rule) to keep another leader and his army engaged elsewhere. The Scots!

All in a few pages of rules. Great work by the designers.
