Never enough time to game? Wish you could have the whole convention experience with all your werewolf-playing friends? No money to travel?

Look no further! Belash and Melissa are proud to present the Inaugural Werewolf Community Virtual Convention.

We're giving you lots of notice so you can send your partner out of town for the weekend and lock the kids up (or vice versa).

This will be an unprecedented event! A weekend-long gaming extravaganza ... a veritable orgy of gaming ... and you don't even have to get out of your pyjamas!

FEATURING:
* Speed Werewolf - lynches every hour or two (looking for a mod for this!)
* BSW galore, with our own channel to keep in touch
* Settlers of Catan tournament, run by Belash, with a yummy prize of Australian junk food to be sent to the winner by Melissa
* Chat chat and more chat - in the BGG chatroom, on MSN, on BSW, even Skype if you're really brave
* Real-time WW
* Play By Email
* Other tournaments - who wants to run them or offer a prize?
* GeekGold giveaways - if people donate the GeekGold
and
* More fun than you can poke a stick at

as well as anything else we dream up between now and then

24 HOUR GAMING!!! The fun starts at 4pm Friday and doesn't end until some time on Monday.

Please post here with ideas, interest, encouragement, etc.

Non-WW players are welcome as well, but this is primarily an event for the WW community.

Right now it is too far ahead to tell, but maybe I could get on for at least part of the party.

Is this a scam to sell more Australian nougats?

Also, I don't see any information about the type of pajamas that is preferred? Sheesh, and you call yourself an information presentation expert.

I will be around, in my holey T-shirt.

Eeexcellent.

We wanted to make it far enough in the future that people could block out the weekend, or at least part of it - especially people who aren't normally on over the weekend.

Smithers - our plan is working

I have never heard of this national nougat obsession before you posted about it. Tell me what kind it is & I will send you some.

We don't currently have a formal pyjama policy. My most likely choice is my extreeeemely sexy blue flannelette PJs with penguins in party hats. Does that help?

Probably a good thing, since there are some of us who generally avoid pajamas.
You guys are so cool. This sounds like fun, almost like my sometimes weekend marathons when it's nothing but me and episode after episode of 24 on dvd with black olives and carrot sticks, with another run of the Big Lebowski thrown in for good measure. Hey, it was winter and I was bored. (:

I'll offer my encouragement, a thumbs up and a pretty cool prize, Melissa, that I'll pm you about and send to you for keeping. Not pajamas.

I can't help but imagine BSN sticking several olives on a carrot and eating them like shish-kebob.

This is an awesome idea.
I put the olives on my fingers and make them talk to each other if no one is looking.

Okay, NOW I'm imagining that you pretend to moderate werewolf games between all the olives.
You've got quite an imagination... Just imagine what I was thinking when you kept going on about eggplants! And they are much more unruly than olives.

Is there going to be a virtual refrigerator full of virtual beer? I think this could be a good selling point ...

What a setup. For a whole weekend, you can play virtual werewolf with virtual friends, eating virtual olives and carrots and drinking virtual beer, all while wearing virtual pajamas.

The only downside is the virtual beer. I only drink real beer. Guiness or Saranac, preferably.

Can you make it rain the whole weekend? :D

We can, but we won't know where until after we read the weather reports!

I haven't even told my wife about this yet... I am sure to get in a little bit of trouble, but what the hell, this is going to rock!

As for tournaments, if anyone wants to run other tournaments, please just post the game in this thread. :)

I think a bit of Lost Cities/Ligretto/Packeis am Poll/etc to kill some time would be fun. I want to organise that if people are interested. Or shall we have a PR tournament on the side - naaa, that's too difficult, to get 4 people online at the same time.

Let me know if I can help out anyway.

No, it's not difficult to get 4 people online at the same time at all. That tends to be relatively easy. We've had 8-9 online at the same time before too...
I think I should get some GG from those who made me buy this microbadge!!

What a lame crazy idea, Ah I see Belash helped think this mess up... No thanks... as if I don't spend enough time online... jeesh...

For those who don't know better, just pretend I wrote the above on April 1st :D

In, of course :D :D

I think we will have a whole virtual bar going.

OT: I never drink alone, and rarely drink during the day. But something about settling down to play on BSW has the ciders in the fridge calling my name.

Any of those tournaments would be great, Ann.

It shouldn't be too hard to schedule people online at the same time. There are reasonable overlaps - the only problem is if an Aussie or Singaporean, a UK/European and a North American are in a game together - that can be tight to schedule. But it's not a con if you're not playing games at stupid times... ;)

EDIT:
I put my timezones thing online: http://rogerson.com.au/boardgames/timezones.html

It opens to the current page (Aus non DST, others DST) but there is also the chart I was using in your European/North American winter as well.

I just exported it from Excel, so it's not exactly pretty. But it gives you what you need to know.

Sounds like fun; Speed Werewolf especially! (I assume that's on the forums?) I should probably be able to make it!

If nothing else, I could probably use some of those GeekGold giveaways ... this no-avatar business is starting to grate ): ...
