Here is the second part of the "Demise and Rise of the FLGS" series, an interview with new game store owner David Holt. He's opened a great new store in the college town of Claremont, California that is called Gameology and he has a lot of innovative ideas to add to the standard 'friendly local game store' setup.

We discuss those ideas, his movitation for starting the store and the way he went about it, how he made one really big mistake (and how it worked out), plus why this store might have a lot more staying power than most.

For more information on the genesis of this series, please see BGB Volume 19, Part 1 of "The Demise and Rise of the FLGS".

Check out the site for his great game store at: www.gameologyshop.com

And download the show at: www.boardgamebabylon.com

Plus, we're back to our old RSS feed: http://boardgamebabylon.libsyn.com/rss

Sorry! iTunes is still dark on Boardgame Babylon until next week.

Lastly - if you like the show, I'd love your help in getting enough GeekGold to buy an Uberbadge (and a podcaster mini-badge for me, hopefully). Tips in any amount are much appreciated!

Thanks for downloading and listening to Boardgame Babylon.

I listened to this today while grading papers and found it fascinating to hear someone talk about starting a game store and the decisions on what to stock, how to cultivate magic players, etc. It would make a good game!

I forgot to say: if you need to get the show on iTunes, you will also get it as a subscriber to the GOBLIN Podcast network.

I just downloaded the episode on Itunes with no problem. It indicates that it is a 36 minute show.

I just got around to listening to this, and I must say it was truly entertaining, informative, and essentially "pure" (with less theory and more "meat" in comparison to part 1). You did some excellent work with this one. I will definitely listen to the next show.
