I dread seeing what he considers difficult on Sunday then!
It's not a magician or a conjuror is it?

I dont understand what XPSdude's post is supposed to be telling me. Does it have to do with yesterdays puzzle? Is it what the owl is saying? Not getting any of the salt tonight. I must have the dumb.

could someone gm me? I'm struggling... I think I'm going down the same (wrong) path as others... the hints that everyone seems to love aren't helping. thanks.

The whole banker/jailer route is wrong.
The owl clue is the key.
Spoiler (mouseover to reveal): If you gave an owl a cutesy 3 letter name what would it be?

Well, I actually never said these were supposed to be easy. I said that my intention was to make them more fun than difficult, which is not the same thing as easy.
Of course, fun is relative.
Sunday's puzzle is difficult not because it's a stumper. I'm pretty sure most of you will figure out what you need to do and what some of the answers are (though that will still take an "aha"... or some salt). The difficult part is that you will then probably need to get most, if not all, of them in order to get to the next step. In other words, I'm not sure if solving half of the puzzle will be good enough to fast forward to the end.
But maybe it is, I don't know. The people who playtested it for me had no problems... but they didn't get back to me until the day after I sent it to them, so they were clearly puzzling under a much looser schedule than many Tangans
FWIW, it's my only puzzle worth 4 points.

xpsdude is the man!
I got it with 3. I'm still not sure what the deck of cards, the jail, or the roasting 'owl' is. Attempting to backsolve...
EDIT: OK, got the cards & the jail, now just the bird....

April 20th is a unofficial holiday for a certain segment of the the population who like to smoke "tobacco" in their water pipes. Not that I would know. I've just heard.

I had to sleep last night but I don't get this one either. The salt just confused me.
Also, mountaineer? That may fit but then I have to look for other weird words for simple things? Hiker and shuffler don't fit though. And I keep getting the same nonsense letters so I know the problem is me.
Even when I use the words others get I am lost.
Andy help for a 4/20 abstainer?
