Both Xpsdude and I posted the exact same thing in the same minute.

It is a child's game in the states (anywhere else?) where when two people say the same thing, one says "jinx" or "jinx on you". At that point in time the person who was "jinxed" is not supposed to talk until their name is said.

That's why he laughed when I posted "jinx" - but he had already removed the duplicate post by the time I "jinxed" him...

Hi. Can someone please explain yesterday's puzzle (the one with the columns)? Apparently the Roman numerals have something to do with it but even looking at the answer today, I have no idea how it was arrived at. The "explanation" doesn't explain it for me at all. It's driving me batty.
