Same here, got to the end word, but what is it? And does it start with b, s, or g?

Should we

the puzzle maker? Or give mercy because they sent something in?

I don't know why you would do that to the puzzle maker. Because,

I only have the opportunity to dig into these once or twice a week, so applying customary interpretation doesn't do a lot for me. I think I'll have to stop staring at this one and just buy "UTSOTD" and try to snag "ROTH" when is pops up next.

Thanks, though.

The pirates each lack something unique. Write down what each thing is. Then, use the belt buckles to decide what to take from each.

Leadfoot has a FAQ on the subject, but the short answer is that someone once accidentally put the answer to one of the puzzles into the comment section instead of the answer box. The answer was "salt" and that started it.

And whenever I post, I usually figure it out, but I'm drawing a bloody blank here.

HEAVY SALT for the Pirate one
Spoiler (click to reveal)
Ok, we're missing:
Foot
Tooth
Hand
Eye

And each pirate's buckle says "3", so I'm taking the third letter from each, and getting "oone". Which made me think that the answer was noone (since that would have the n missing), but that didn't help.

I tried the third letter from the end, and got "ooae", which is also useless. I've got to be missing something obvious...

Any help?
