Spoiler (click to reveal)
Jack refers to a president. Number 5 has been in the news a lot with some controversy about pictures.

Ok, I'm coming to this board for more help, because I'm really dense on this puzzle for some reason. I have all the clues (i think), but what I thought I was supposed to do with the numbers must be wrong because I get gybrish. Not to mention an earlier spoiler on this thread doesn't match up with my number theory...help anyone?

Apply the numbers one digit at a time using two different methods.

Which clearly I'm not interpreting correctly, since I've read that many times and has not given me an AHA moment...I was certain that

Spoiler (click to reveal)
the first number points to which letter to take from the first name, and the second to which letter from the last name...hence the single digit number in 6

...but I get junk

I've solved the puzzle, but would appreciate someone outright telling me exactly how #6 fits into the puzzle. The only answers I can come up with don't work with the solution.

Try this:

For clue number 6 changing the number to 14 will still provide the correct answer.

I have got to be totally dense today. I must be missing the obvious.

Anyway, I now see that I have the wrong answer for #7...only one ever came to mind..not sure what the real answer is.

Thanks for your help mundane...

OK, finally got the puzzle, but I'm still trying to reverse-engineer #6. As a pagan, I'm afraid I'm just not that familiar with the New Testament, and everything I can think of (or Google) doesn't fit. I did come up with a name that fits, but she's Old Testament, not New. Someone please Geekmail me with the answer? Inquiring minds and all that...

Thanks!

Recent high-profile divorce that we're all sick of hearing about. Previously got married in Vegas and got divorced hours later. Her ex-husband is a talentless bore that no one will miss if he fell off the face of the earth.

You'll get it if you think about it One More Time.

ok, I just put in the answer to the puzzle that I thought of a few hours ago and it was right. I hate when the answer pops in my head and I never try it because I can't line it up with the puzzle. I'm going to just start putting down what I think it is and then try to solve it. I could have had dinner cooked by now!

My wife came up with it last night, bless her soul.

If I have all the boxes correct then I am completely lost because I see no pattern or anything. I thought the same thing at first as you but can't find a relation.
