As you may have noticed, most Valley Games products come with a number on each box. These numbers are used to create "bookshelf collections", or what we refer to as "lines".

I've started this thread in order to keep you updated on what game lines we have available, and which games are in each line.

I'll keep updating this entry and keep this list current.

MODERN LINE

Description: This line is for new-release games (except Tactics games). It features an ultra-modern number on each box.

Games in this line:

#1 Container
#2 Municipium
#3 Supernova

CLASSIC LINE

Description: This line is for our classic reprints (except Tactics games). It features a Roman numeral on each game.

Games in this line:

#1 Die Macher
#2 Titan
#3 Big City
#4 Special Edition (formerly "Extrablatt")
#5 Republic of Rome
#6 Liberte

TACTICS LINE

Description: This line is for our "Tactics" games. Put on your General's hat! The games in this line feature numbers adorned with helmets and hats from various points in history.

Games in this line:

#1 Hannibal: Rome Vs. Carthage

Why start 3 new lines, rather than one line of all the games?

To be honest, we have a very big production schedule lined up. Though these seem like small lines at the moment, they will fill up rather quickly.

The modern line is also supposed to have a Reiner Knizia game in the works I believe, Any news on that?

Yes, there is a Knizia game in the Modern Line (a Knizia "big box" game). It hasn't been *officially* announced yet, but it won't be long now.

Different lines also allow for different size boxes, no? Makes sense to me to keep all games in a line in the same box size, but not all games need the rather large Die Macher box size...

Can't wait till I have them all on my shelf! I've played them all except for the Hannibal one...

Define "quickly" : are we talking months here, or a year or two?

Supernova will most likely be number 3 or 4 in our Modern Line. This depends entirely on the strength of its preorder numbers on our "750 Special".

The other games in that line that are yet to be assigned a number are the "Super Secret Knizia Game" (which I'll be revealing soon), and "Containers" which will be released at Essen 2007. I suspect that those will be #2 and #3 respectively, although Supernova could move up a bit if preorders go well.

We're talking about lines that will be up to #5 by 2008 generally speaking. The Modern Line and Classic Line will fill up the fastest, certainly.

Keep an eye on this thread, as I will keep it updated.

Is that the one that I might have played with Torben in Essen? I really liked thatone!

That's the one! It may look a little different from the last time you saw it, but the gameplay itself remains the same.

But don't be fooled by the radio, the TV, or the magazines. They'll show you photographs of how your life should be but they're just someone else's fantasies.

Tactics II

Wow, now that is too funny. Tactics II was the first board game I ever played. Many many years ago.

I knew I was leaving one out!

Republic of Rome is slated for the #4 spot in our classic line. Not too bad for a clean-up hitter, I'd say!

I've edited the list above to reflect the addition.

EDIT: Oops... I've had to make a correction in order to get the order of the Classics Line correct. Also, note the inclusion of Liberte to the list.

Guess Canadian Baseball has the clean-up hitter in the #3 slot, as I see Titan pencilled in at #4 (batting left) while RoR is at #3.

But this does open up the Tactics II spot for the eponymous game.

Updated the list again, after quite a bit of time has elapsed. Had to reorder the Classic Line a bit in order to have it reflect our expected order of release for those titles.

So the numbers on the boxes should be as in the list above? A bit confusing as the original lineup always had the same number as the part number for the boxes. Don't tell me those will change too?
