I need some users to help out with my BoardGameGeek Facebook application. I spent about 20 hours over the weekend writing this, and I'm pretty happy with what I've got done. I'd appreciate feedback and/or bug reports:
You can add the application here: http://apps.facebook.com/boardgamegeek

Holy wah! This is an expensive place to put random crap! And further, please DO NOT FIX GeekQuestions tipping OR thumb counts. Both are a critical part of its charm (such as it is).

Do we need to create a separate facebook account or is BGG somehow linked in?

Well you need a facebook account to use it, but I have added functionality so you can link them together.

Hey Aldie,
I'm in. Facebook account is created, and I've linked FB-BGG accounts.

I looked into it, and immediately realized that 'face book' is another one of those things that everyone but me knows about, and therefore I'm entirely unqualified to QA. Kinda like My Space and tapas.

Great idea. Is it supposed to transfer my owned, played, rated games etc? It doesn't seem to be showing them.

I like it! Another way to make non-Geeks into Geeks!

Any chance of making the collection sortable by rating? Or seeing who else has installed the app?
Nice work, Aldie!

Well it started out as "college students only" but over the past year and a half or so has expanded to allow everyone in. So I wouldn't feel too bad

Thanks for this Aldie. Here are some feedback/features requests.
I have the facebook app installed and linked to my BGG account. I added Age of Empires III as owned after installing. The owned number did not increase even with page refreshes and browser restarts. Going into the owned link does have the game listed and the proper number of games I own according to BGG.
It would be nice to pick and choose what is visible. It makes me sad to see that I have 0 in all of the columns (which is true) except for Owned. Would like to just have owned on there if I had the choice.
Would also like to see a random 5 images from games I own as well. Might make more people who are not into games more interested in learning them.
I guess I could get off of my fat butt and do some of this myself. Thank you once again.
-----------------
Of course now I go and rate a game and I see it showing up. Even better. Seems as though the facebook profile page isnt as fast in getting its info.

Ah, yes that makes sense. I missed that part. Looks good now.

When I look at my games for trade it doesn't list the trade information text, just the comments.

I just created an account. What you made is pretty cool. I'm not sure how much I personally will use facebook or need that feature but ... still cool anyway.

Are you referring to the Owned on your front module page or on the My Profile page within the application?

I added it, walked through my wishlist and removed some games. I noticed it does not update my wishlist total on my facebook page but if I click on it, it shows the correct amount.

I don't think this application will replace anything for hardcore users, but using the social graph on facebook may bring new players into the hobby.

Owned on the front module. Within the application it appears to be working correctly.

My gaming group will probably use it more then me. It does allow me a quick and easy method though of reviewing what I have when I am not at BGG though.

Hello Aldie and good job!
Account created and linked. I am able to see my game collection as well as various other things such as the Hot Games, etc.
I like it!

I like the fact that you called the app Board Games rather than Board Game Geek. It all appears to work. I don't use Facebook much myself currently, it's just a beacon for people trying to find me.
I think I'd like to have a link to my BGG profile within the Board Games app if that's possible, and/or a separate app listing any contributions I've made. That would help make Facebook a useful hub.

I think it would be nice to be able to display 'x' of my current top 10 or hot 10 on my profile as part of this.
