It looks like they're either ending the sale early for a bunch of things, and/or they've "corrected" the discount prices. A number of the discounted games that were removed are now back in the database (though their webpages aren't loading properly). Some are even back in stock; for example, even though Puerto Rico isn't loading I know it's in stock because it reappeared on my wishlist. I was even able to move it to my cart. The price, however... In stock: MidEvil 2: Castle Chaos $10.99 Cosmic Cows $14.99 <-- odd, considering they canceled some orders Puerto Rico $39.99 <-- again, why the canceled orders? Out of stock: Pente $11.99 Carcassone: Princess & Dragon $14.99 Star Munchkin $19.99 Zombies!!! 4: The End $24.99 Mississippi Queen $39.99 Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition $79.99 Etcetera. It appears that they're either really good at restocking quickly, or they didn't want to honor the prices. *edited to update status of Puerto Rico and other "sold out" games*

since the website is not loading the pages, I call the 800 number to ask about TI3 and Puerto Rico. TI3 is now not in stock and PR is at 39.99. I ask about the 10.00 summer sale price and was told those were last years edition and they have sold out. The new PR they have are all this years edition....

I'm something of a lurker round here, but I've been following this thread. I've worked in the customer service and support field for some time, so this is something I feel strongly about. It's a real shame that Toys R Us values their customers so little. I'd encourage everyone who had their orders cancelled, to contact the company directly, but I wouldn't recommend addressing the letter to the CEO as it won't get better attention and will likely be placed in the "circular file" rather than addressed. Their website has a Guest Relations phone number: 1-800-869-7787. Your best bet would be to call them and lodge a complaint. When you do, make sure you have some specific request in mind rather than just expressing general outrage. For example, those who had numerous items cancelled from an order and wound up with tiny orders that have exorbitant shipping costs, might request a credit of the shipping charges, particularly if you wouldn't have purchased the additional items if it were not for the shipping discount given for a multi-item order. If that doesn't resolve it, you might escalate to Amazon.com's customer service department since TRU is affiliated with them. Bear in mind that this may not do any good. They may refuse to do anything for you. In that case, you should file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This probably won't actually get you anything, but it does affect their reputation as a company especially if EVERYONE from BGG who had their order cancelled files a complaint. As a side note, the BBB's list of complaints aginst a company makes for interesting reading if you are considering purchasing from a company. It'll give you an idea of who and when a company failed to satisfy a customer enough to cause them to file a complaint.

I also ordered the Seafarers of Catan 5-6 player expansion, and a Michael Graves Scrabble set. (About time I dump my ancient, banged-up, 1950s copies.) So far, so good. But cancelling someone's order, then declaring the items back in stock, and increasing the price before the end of the stated sale period -- very bad business. EDIT: I'm thinking of just cancelling my order. I don't trust them. I fear they will charge me full price when they charge my credit card, since the amount when I checked out clearly said "estimated total." This means that they're free to alter it, and now that they've upped the price of PR, I suspect it's going to happen. Better safe than sorry. EDIT: Hmmm. Can't cancel. Well maybe it'll get cancelled for me.

I think TRU broke off that happy arrangement a year ago with Amazon, when they accuse amazon of letting third party seller sell the same items they were carrying...

My orders seem to have gone through. I made two separate orders. one with Pit and Carcassonne Princess and Dragon. Carcassonne was said to be out of stock then it updated and said found in warehouse. the other order i made yesterday at about 7 pm for Twilight Imperium and it was available for like 30 minutes. Then it went out of stock. today all the games seemed to have disappeared or they are not even updating the page and they seem broken.

I had the same reservations as you, but I figure I have a copy of the receipt they sent when I ordered. If the prices don't match exactly when I get them then I have proof that I was overcharged. Dunno if that helps.
