New to the site, and was wondering what everyone's understanding of Lucky Dukes 'ability'. Does that mean when he first draws the initial two cards that he draws two, picks one, then draws two more and picks one? Secondly, when it says he draws two and picks one anytime he has to draw, does that include for a barrel and the dynamite?
Thanks!

It refers ONLY to the cards requiring to reveal the top card of the deck to see if they work or not (barrel, dynamite, etc.).
Notice the Italian text (my edition has both languages on each card): "estrarre" = reveal the top card of the deck (that's what you do for the barrel, etc.), "pescare" = take the top card of the deck in your hand (that's what you do twice at the start of your turn).

Welcome to BGG!

He draws the top 2 cards and picks one when he has to "Draw!", which is different from just "draw". So he'd pick the best of 2 if he was:

Trying to draw a heart for the Barrel
Trying to draw a heart for the Jail
Trying NOT to draw a 2-9 of spades for the Dynamite.

Example:

Lucky Duke's turn, and he has the dynamite. he draws the top 2 cards. The first one is a 3 of spades. The second is a 4 of diamonds. he chooses the 4 of diamonds, and the dynamite doesn't explode.
