This shows me that there is still hope for this country- if the future of this nation is truly in the hands of the children, at least we can fool other nations with our blurry sleight-of-hand!
After seeing a similar video, I got a Dice Stacking DVD/dice set, thinking it would be a neat thing to do at the game table.
It's hard. You are basically using physics to throw the dice up and along the side wall of the cup. The waving back and forth is needed to keep all the dice in the cup, and that's also lining them up. Then, you gently "land" them, continuing the movement of the cup so the stack doesn't fall over. If you've done it well, the dice and cup will all stop moving, and the dice will be stacked along the edge of the cup...this is why you see them slide the cup over a bit before lifting, as this puts the cup right over the dice.
I could not get the hang of the "landing". I could get the dice in the cup, and lined up right, but I kept bringing it down at the wrong angle or not at the right speed, and the stack would tumble before stopping.
Actually, watching this guys I kept thinking "not all special effects have to be flashy, this could be CGI." But I guess it's possible. Just not for me.
That's pretty sweet. I think about the only way to make that more impressive would be to be able to control what number the dice come out on. That or do it with your mind. Telekinesis would also be pretty impressive.
