Coincidentally I popped into the Harrogate store this morning and found:

Beowulf (I think I got the last one)
League of Pirates (They had one left)
Mensa Connections (four or five copies dotted around)
Apples to Apples (This is the edition with the pink box, not the red one as displayed on the BGG game entry. They had 4 copies)
Gift Trap (1 copy)
Hotels - Las Vegas Edition (1 copy)

It looked like they've just had a restock, as none of this stuff was in a month or so ago.

Cheers,

Matt

Chris,

If Gordon isn't able to get Gift Trap for you from his local TK Maxx, let me know and I'll see if they've still got one in Harrogate.

If you are going back to Brighton check the toys section. I was in their today and got mensa Connections (they had a bunch of copies). They also had Apples, but I didn't see Giftrap.

But no Mensa, no GiftTrap, no Apples.

Everything else was dubious: Lost, Mind the Gap, lots of crappy looking party games (I know the good ones and they weren't there) like WifeSwap. Some Murder games if you like those.

I echo Vince's comment: if you go to the Harrogate store, check the toy section, as that's where Mensa Connections, Apples to Apples and a load of other games that I didn't know (and didn't like the look of) were.

I also just remembered that Harrogate also had Lost and at least three of those murder mystery games. I also recall having seen a copy of the basic Heroscape set in there.

Thanks for all the offers folks - Gordon has snagged me GiftTrap.

I would leave Heroscape - Argos regularly do it for £7.99, even £5.99 last time.

Hi Rich,

I'm going to be away all weekend, but if no one has picked one up for you by Monday, I will certainly check the TK Maxx here in Harrogate. They definitely had one in there on Thursday.

Cheers,

Anyone considering Impact may want to check out my brief review http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/1636244#1636244. I picked it up some time ago from TK-Maxx for £6.

I popped into T.K.Maxx at lunchtime and got my hands on:

Return of the Heroes
Under the Shadow of the Dragon
Mensa Connections (Ingenious)
Beowulf: The Legend
Minotaur Lords
Apples To Apples
Gift Trap

That's about £145 worth of decent games I got for just under £53. What a bargain!

Thanks guys for the heads up. It was the Hull store I went to and they had plenty more in stock.

Edit: to add that they also had Colossal Arena, but I've already got that, plus loads of other games that have already been mentioned in this thread. No sign of David & Goliath, unfortunately.

At the risk of appearing like a total muppet, the above actually refers to the East Croydon town centre store - not Brighton. Sorry.

Just popped to the Coventry store following this great tip off and they had
minotaur lords
colossal arena
gifttrap
all in the gift section near the entrance, along with a load of other stuff (Lost, wife swap murder mysetry games etc).

Then went up stairs and in amongst all the kids games were
Mensa connections
Appples to Apples old british isles edition
heroscape

All at knock down prices

Who'd have thought it, TKMaxx a pseudo FLGS that was dirt cheap.

AB

PS: I noticed that Gifttrap has a big sticker that takes up a whole side dedicated to BGG!! Saying that this is a great resource and that the BGG users rate the game a 7/10 and then go on to say how much higher this rating is than Monopoly an trivial pursuit etc. Cool huh?

EDIT: added the PS

Went to TK Maxx in Dundee, saw Minotaur Lords, Apples to Apples etc. Ignored all that though when I spotted "Have I Got News For You", the board game for 6quid. Never saw it before, and from my search of the site neither has BGG :D

Popped back into the Hanley TK Maxx yesterday and they had some Attackitx figures in I hadn't seen before.

They had a Luke Skywalker and Wampa (big snow beast thing) set and a Marvel heroes set (Green Goblin, Sabretooth, spiderman and wolverine I think) They were £4.99 each.

Not seen those before

If you or your kin are into Attacktix figures - star wars and transformers - or the special edition star wars snowspeeder models and like - then you may like to know that the Instore (new name for Poundstretcher) has all these in stock - the attacktix figures are going for 3.99 (a quid cheaper than TK Max).

Called in at my local Tk Maxx this evening in Speke, Liverpool. They have two more copies of Beowulf (Fantasy Flight Games) and had a copy of Shakespeare by Uberplay for £9.99.

Also when visiting Borders at Speke Retail Park found copies of Loot (7.99)and Penguin (9.99) both by Reiner Knizia. The prices arnt much to shout about but at least you get to avoid having to pay shipping fees so there is potential for a small saving.
