Guys, anyone else see the post in the Hot Deals section? TK Max has a selection of boardgames in the £5-£10 range.

I popped in this morning and got

Apples to Apples
Return of the Heroes and it's expansion
Minotaur Lords
Beowulf

These looked to be the only copies out but I did ask the cashier and he says their stock changes constantly (seems they buy singles rather than bulk) so it may be worth keeping an eye on. A friend found Colossal Arena and Ingenious in another branch.

I had a look on your advice and I saw HeroScape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie - is this any good??

Frank, Heroscape certainly looks fun, a friend got me a copy in the Argos £6 blowout - I figured at that price how could I go wrong? I'm just trying to be responsible and actually play it once or twice before splurging on the booster packs :)

They definitely restock in there as when I went in last week a copy of Colossal Arena had appeared (£5). Some of the games are just to the right of the door in the Mens section and, as I expect you saw, the toys and games are arranged haphazardly so it's worth digging around.

I've been looking about for a copy of Heroscape - Argos are sold out all over. I hope they restock. I missed the TK max stuff in the mens section! I headed for ragtag toys and games bit.

Do you think it's worth getting it from there (for £15) or does anyone think Argos might get it back in?

Not an expert but when I was looking at the Heroscape page it looked like Argos had had it in about £15 and the reduction to £6 was a clearance - people were pointing out that it made the base game cheaper than the boosters but rather than leading to in influx of players it puts people off - "I can get all this for £6 but only 6-8 figures for a tenner?" sort of thing.

Couple that with the fact that there's a new Master Set [coming] out and I'd have thought that if anything, Argos would stock that.

Still a good deal in TK Max but YVMV. :)

Well I got Heroscape (And a huge My Little Pony castle thing) and a London Underground/Transport game which looked fun. I didnt get apples to apples or beuwolf as they weren't to my taste. Couldn't really find anythign else. Lol couldn't find the mens section unless they had moved it to just near the tills.
