Yes, it's true. I just picked up Perikles (only copy) from Oxford for £9.99. Also Beowulf and Heroscape (one more of each left). Agricola next?

damn it I picked up polarity from Oxford yesterday but didn't see Perikles! There was another Polarity left as well as the heroscape big box expansions though. And a couple of Beowulfs

Why do you insist on putting more temptation in my way? It took me about a week to convince myself that I didn't want Beowulf, regardless of the price.
I don't want Perikles either. I'm sure I don't...... £10 you say?

Many thanks for this tip "emmersonpoole". I have just visited my local store in Speke, Liverpool and found Perikles - it looks as though this game had only been recently shipped out to the store since I found the game in a trolley of stuff yet to be shelved. As normal our local TK Maxx staff got it wrong and were in the process of adding the game to the Childrens games area and not the mens interests area. I would therefore advise anyone looking for the game to have a good mooch round the store before giving up.

As my good friend Ste said. Have a good look around.
In the Liverpool City Centre branch. Most of the games are downstairs by the escalators (Beowulf, Rocketville, Polarity, Minotaur Lords, a pirate game).
But if you head upstairs to the kids section, indeed you will find Perikles, Ingenious & Risk Express.
A common link thru the bulk of the games seems to be Esvedium. Who must be clearing warehouse space in preparation for their latest bout of post-Essen overpricing.

Oooooh I feel another trip to TK Maxx coming on...
Canterbury has oodles of Polarity sets, a coupla Mensa Connections and a Beowulf or two, but didn't spot Perikles (else I would have snaffled one!)
Ashford was also stocked full of Beowulfs, Star Wars Attacktix n a heap of kids' games too last time I checked...
(Update to follow shortly!)

The only other thing I've seen in T K Maxx which hasn't been mentioned yet is Couronne by Brio - which looks like a sort of kids version of Carrom with cues. I think it was £12.99 reduced from £25, I would have bought one but it was pretty big to carry all the way across town...

Also floating around were League of Pirates (looks poo), Shakespeare: the Bard Game, some curious Christmas Game, as well as stacks of the kids stuff...

No Perikles in Manchester, but a number of Polarities (assuming you can have more than two, that is, without a disruption in the space-time continuum), one Orm's return Heroscape expansion (not any more though
) and one copy of UTSOD.
And I got some exercise on my bike gettting there too - what more could you want?

Grrr why don't these things ever come up north!!!
No Perikles, UTSOD or Beowulf in Durham Just Shakespeare, Polarity and hundreds of Murder Mystery Games...
On the plus side, it's fantastic that TK Maxx are selling "our" kind of games.

Not only Perikles, but Perikles in industrial grade "do not open till Xmas" wrapping! You'll understand when you see it tomorrow.
