I've been thinking about it. Worth it for a first-timer? I'd be coming from NoVa.

Most definitely. I started going last year and I'm hooked. Imagine a room filled with 300+ people, all gaming. The buzz of conversation and laughter just fills the air with positive energy.
At the front of the room are tables filled with hundreds of games. Go browse, find one you want to play, put your name on a clipboard that you have "checked out" the game, and go find someone to play it with!
With so many people there all for the same thing, its easy to find opponents. I find that I hop from game to game, with little to no downtime.
At the front of the room also is the Game Days staff with a projector hooked to a laptop running a program that shows the schedule of events (demos etc) that day, what's coming up next, and a timer showing how long until the next event occurs. It's very professionally run.
The game room is open from 8am until around 2am all 4 days. There's plenty of restaurants around, including a Chilis in the hotel.
All in all, a wonderful, wonderful time. It's on par with BGG.CON, except I don't have to fly to Texas. Woo hoo!

I'm running the Trashfest tournament so I'll be there for about 4 days straight.
Top 10 things I'm looking foward to at Gamedays: 10. Kicking things off with Warrior Knight's Thursday afternoon 9. Playing the full version of Battlelore 8. Killing monsters playing Prophecy on Thursday night 7. Taking the #24 car to victory Sunday morning 6. Hunting down Dracula and Zombies on Friday afternoon 5. Blowing up minis by playing splash damage card with Starcraft 4. Learning to play Gangsters on Sunday 3. Friday night Arkham Horror party 2. Saturday night epic game of Twilight Imperium 3 1. Not having to GM 9 hours of Caylus like I did at Euroquest

I'm officially in for Trashy Fest. Mostly I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about.
And no, Eric and all that know me, I will NOT be playing Werewolf.
Peter, you may recognize me by face, seeing I've been to the last 2 EuroQuests. I tend to stick to the Outlaw stuff in those cons.

I and my +1 will be there Friday evening and Saturday 'til the Auction closes (at least).
We've been on 'operation clean the basement' for a while, and I'm hoping to have a crate of games that need new homes in tow.

I with you there! Are you going to the Derby? I'm running a Derby exacta contest and we're breaking to see the most exciting 2 minutes in sports. How the contest works is everyone can pick an exacta. If anyone gets it correct, they'll get a bottle of Kentucky's finest Makers Mark bourbon if nobody gets the Exacta the House or KingPut keeps it for himself.

The top 5 things I'm looking forward to at Game days:
1. Playing StarCraft: The Board Game with VonEpp
2. Playing Agricola with Zev of Z-Man Games
3. A rematch (from EuroQuest 2007) of Blockers! with DaMarsh
4. Late-night sessions of Werewolf - the game I swear I will never play again every time I'm killed, yet I keep going back...
5. Walking into that massive game room, taking in the crowd, and beholding the massive wall of games just waiting for me to play.

As a first-time attendee, I can't wait to be there on Saturday!
I am having one little problem, though, and am hoping someone can help me out. I sent my one-day registration fee to the GCOM's treasurer via PayPal, but they have not yet completed the transaction. I've also tried to send two emails to the general email box of GCOM, and I'm getting postmaster responses saying that email address is over their quota limit. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Mozart78, Hopefully the Paypal thing will resolve itself in the next day or two. Many people registered last minute. Bring a copy of your of your paypal registration with you that may help. Also, you may want to register Hannibal to the Silent Auction http://gamesday.gamesclubofmd.org/ I'll trade you Princes of Florence and Kingdoms for Hannibal.

Try sending your email again. If it was to webmaster, that was my goof.

Hey John-Paul, It's all fixed. You are offically pre-reged. We do not get to update the paypal account every day. Recently I have been having problems with my gcom@gamesclubofmd.org e-mail address. Looks like I will be needing to switch over to my other e-mail address, which is gamesclubofmd2verizon.net since I can not figure out how to fix the other account issue.
Attendance clarifaction. Last year we had 175. We WILL have over 200 this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!
Keith
