Sigh. I guess you really do want to read it. But you have to reply in German for Uwe. *stern look*
It is possible that I took some liberties with this translation. You'll notice the bits that aren't Uwe, I'm sure.
We're planning to do a Postcard give-away for OMGESSEN!
I've collected all the ideas for it here. My English isn't so great but hopefully some of you will manage the German. Or hassle Melissa on IM while she is Otherwise Occupied until she agrees to translate it when she is done. Whatever floats your boat.

Postcard Give-Away 1: AbbeyIn May 2008, our illustrator the really very lovely Klemens Franz suggested that we test the idea of doing a postcard give-away for OMGESSEN!. In 2007, we'd considered a first idea for a postcard: Create three new action fields: Church, Parish hall and Cemetery. This would look gorgeous but those three buildings could be hard to integrate with the theme.
Matthias Kornmaier suggested we do an Abbey with an Abbey Mill, Brewing Beer and a Herb Garden: players could send a person to the Abbey for 3 rounds. In the first round, she works in the Herb Garden and receives 2 Food. In the second round, she works in the Abbey Mill and is able to bake bread (turn 1 grain into 3 food). In the third round, she can brew beer (turn 1 grain into 2 food). Instead of baking or brewing, the person could pray and get 1 bonus point. A person in the Abbey should, in my opinion, not need to be fed.

Postcard give-away 2: StoreroomThe simplest postcard idea would not even need to be playtested: A Storeroom, in which players can keep their resources. But then we'd need to give each player 5 postcards in one go - one in each of the player colours - and would realistically need to charge a fee of 1 Euro.

Uwe's favouriteMy favourite idea was to arrange 6 weak action spaces in a 3x2 grid. The special thing here would be that one person could occupy two adjacent spaces in one go (like in Roulette) and could action them in whichever order they choose. In one round, up to 3 people could be placed on the postcard (each occupying 2 spaces)
The disadvantage of this idea: The players are not really under enough pressure to take actions away from one another, because there are too many possible actions available. A partial solution: the action space that is occupied LAST in each round is closed for all phases of the following round (show this using a Guest token). This could also affect two neighbouring fields on the postcard. Alternatively, we could require that the last person to be placed in each round must be placed on the postcard.

Postcard Give-away 3: New Action spaces: Market or MarketplaceOver the internet, I've received a range of suggestions of how new action spaces could be integrated with the theme. Julian Steindorfer from Vienna took the idea of the little Action spaces and suggested a market, where players can make small transactions. They could, for example, buy 1 Cattle or sell Vegetables.
Ralph Bruhn also wrote about the idea of a Market. The gist: Give something up and get something else for it. So, for example, you could exchange 2 building resources for 2 others of your choice (Hardware store), give up 1 fence and build 1 stable (Wood market), pay 1 food to bake bread (Grocery market). In the Hardware store, you could also perform a renovation. An animal market and a Vegetable market could also appear.
Julian's second idea was more complex: After each Harvest, there should be a Village Phase. Each player may place exactly one person, beginning with the last player of the previous round and proceeding anticlockwise. As soon as two players have placed themselves in the inn, they may trade with one another, but must pay 2 food between them. If they don't trade, they need not pay anything. If only one person goes to the Inn, the Landlord buys them a beer (2 food). A player who visits the marketplace may buy and sell animals, grain and vegetables at fixed prices. Visiting the Church provides 1 VP. 3 randomly drawn building resources are placed in the Parish Storehouse at the start of the game. A player who visits this space takes the 3 resources and draws 3 new ones from the general supply. Julian suggests that this postcard could be set up so that the Inn and the Church could be occupied by 2 people each, the Market and the Parish Storehouse by 1.

Postcard give away 4: New Action spaces: StorageWhen we asked for suggestions for the postcard giveaway, we also received suggestions for full value action spaces on the game board.
Matthias Kornmaier from Berlin would like to see an action space where players could exchange unplayed cards from their hand for others.
Ralph Bruhn from Bornheim suggested an Action space on which you get a "gift voucher" that allows you to place one person on an already occupied Action space.
Two other ideas have the sense of storage. Ralph Bruhn helped me to turn them into a full game option. Arne Claussen suggested a "Communal Fireplace". This is an action space that can be used as a Fireplace, at a cost of 1 wood for each use. Ralph Bruhn suggested a space with one building resource, chosen by the starting player before the start of each round. I would call this the "Storage hall".
Thinking about our new game for 2008
Le Havre (OMGLEHAVRE!), I thought it would be good to create another Action space called "La Gerance" ("Geschäftsführung" in German

): In the next round, the player may place two of his people before the start player. I'd get this space drawn in the same style as the gorgeous Le Havre illustrations.
Ralph had a whole range of additional suggestions for weak action spaces:
- The active player chooses 1 building resource for each player, and takes 2 for himself. (Storehouse keeper)
- The active player can exchange 1 resource - building resource, grain or vegetable - for 1 Wild boar (Pork storage)
- The active player can exchange 1 building resource for 1 grain (Knock-off time --- ermm, I mean, Beer storage).
- All players except the active player must return 1 resource of their choice (Storage costs).
- In the current round, the active player may use 1 remaining person to occupy (and use) an existing action space. (Storage rage).

Postcard Give-Away 5: New Action spaces: Working in the fieldsAnother thematic extension would be an image of a forest and pastures. The six action spaces would be:
- Take 2 Wood
- Fence 1 pasture
- Build 1 stable for 1 wood
- Pay 1 food to plough 1 ield
- Sow one field
- take 1 grain or vegetable from up to 2 fields.
The three planting spaces would not border one another. The two weakest actions would be in the middle of the postcard. In my estimation, these are the Sow 1 field and Build 1 stable.
Love and kisses, [ok, he said best wishes]
Uwe.
