Where to begin? How about with a little background research. Looking at the original rules and theme, this game was first marketed as an ACTUAL tightrope walker and the name of the game was the German word for tightrope.
As a player won and lost tricks ina game, they would receive red and blue sticks that represented additions to the pole that a tightrope walker uses.
Not too bad of an idea overall, but then during a reprinted edition by Uberplay, the decent and solid idea was perverted into something awful.
THE RELATIONSHIP TIGHTROPE.
Really? Seriously? This is the reworking they came up with? I mean, it could have been anything. It could have been a politically based game where you get tokens representing the far left and the far right. you could've called it "flip-floppers" or something. The possibilities are endless really.
I mean, of all people, Reiner Knizia is the king of pasting themes onto well-crafted mathematically based games, and this is what they came up with.
The cover and artwork pretty much doomed this game to becoming $1.99 tanga fodder and relegated it to the ranks of Baby/Bridal shower gifts as soon as it was printed.
Well, I had seen it numerous times, at increasingly bargain basement prices, and never decided to buy it based on this assumption.....
LUCKILY, I couldn't have been more wrong.
Hidden behind the cheesy facade is a wonderful filler game that blends just the right amount of luck and strategy to hold your attention for many games in the future.

Please comment on here and on Youtube. We appreciate feedback, as we are still in our infancy with doing video reviews.
Enjoy, and keep your eyes peeled for new episodes coming soon.
You guys are very entertaining and still provide a good review of the game. Many of the other videos reviews are pretty dry and you certainly avoid that.
Hey! I recognize the shirt the guy on the left is wearing. (I work for Herberger College.)
I've got a few guys here at the office who are gamers, and we play most every day at lunch; Relationship Tightrope got played today. Not a bad game at all.
(BTW: Brian, I have a copy of The Omega Virus I want to get rid of, if you're up for a local trade. I think I once sent you a note about it.)
