Here's an example: http://files.boardgamegeek.com/bggimages/pic359233.jpg

I just looked at my history, and they're a bunch like this declined. They're all under People for whatever game they're playing. They don't have a caption, but neither do some other People images uploaded in the last week that where accepted.

Am I missing something? I'd rather get the 0.1gg for correctly declining it instead of losing out on the 0.01gg that I'm not getting for voting to accept.

Edit: The title is hard to word correctly. I'm just referring to the images uploaded in the last week or so, not all images of asian guys. I'm sure that won't stop a flame war from erupting.

I know. They're playing like 5 games in a day.

Well, who is declining them. I want my geekgold, and those guys are a cash cow.

Ahhh, the inconsistency!

My declined image accuracy is less than 30% accurate. Think of all that lost geekgold. Will no one think of poor me.

This one has a woman in it: http://files.boardgamegeek.com/bggimages/pic358304.jpg

Who declines images with woman. How is it sapposed to get creepy geek comments if it's declined.

Edit: Pull my finger

They will probably manage to get their pics in with repeat submissions, which is fine as long as the pictures don't truly warrant a decline vote.

Pink Milkshake! How can you not accept the pink milkshake?

Don't worry, THIS one got through. Just make them out of focus with junk in the background and throw a timestamp on there and you're golden.

Yep that was 12 Power Grid maps back to back over two days. Worth doing, but possibly not in such a concentrated burst.

Ooh yes, now a little to the left - my nose is itchy. No, no the other left! Now what colour is 12 supporter badge going to be I wonder?

Look back at my GeekMod history of ones that I have seen through GeekMod, the ones that are being declined are usually long shots, i.e. the game is probably 30-40% or less of the real estate of the picture.

I actually approved most of them, but my guess is that is why they would be picking up declines. Looking at recent groups playing games, the ones were the game takes up more of the picture seem to get approved more often.

Isn't the People category for pictures of people playing the game. Why would you want a zoomed in picture of the board for a People picture?

I don't see how they are any poorer than most shots of people playing games. I don't see how THIS is a better picture.

We had a speaker a few months ago that spoke about similar racial issues. As a introduction to their research and a prelude to their talk they sent a link to the following video. I submit it to BGG for their own enlightenment.

That fit my reason for a few that I declined.

I am not passing comment on these pictures, but as a general statement if it is difficult to identify the game from the picture, then some people sitting around playing something doesn't necessarily cut it.

When looking at pictures of people playing a game, I personally prefer the picture be of THE PEOPLE playing the game. So, I personally don't buy that the game needs to fill the picture. But, that's my opinion on it, which is mostly different from the BGG community. But, that doesn't mean we can keep trying to approve pictures of people enjoying playing games, after all that's what it's all about,

I join this "carpet" group also...i'm with the eyeglasses...

We submitted lots of pictures because we have 3 regular meet-ups each week, 1 big group meet-up & 2 small group meet-ups...

I got almost 25 pics rejected in this past 5 days...i wonder why...:(:(

For me, the pictures did not contribute anything to the collection of images on the geek. I kept hoping that a caption more compelling than "mid-game" would show up so I could contextualize the pictures somehow. Even the identity of the game group would have been helpful--some sort of time and place.

The pictures did not communicate the characters of the individuals involved or any sense of the games being played. Often players faces were not even visible in the photos. They did not display any intention of the photographer in their composition. I simply could not figure out what their point was.

I LOVE pictures of people playing games. I really enjoy the people category but the pictures must reach some threshold of photographic composition or narrative to warrant geek-modding them positively
