I am looking to pay an artist (or artists) that can help me create a number of Risk-style maps for a browser-based game.
- Deliverable will need to be PSD, AI, or EPS (I will prep for web use)
- I am looking for full ownership
- Map sizes will vary - most created for use at 1024x768
- Quality of art vs file size (load time) will be an important balancing act
- Artwork will need to be simple, stylish, & communicate territories well
- The game is currently in development - so timeline is flexible
Initially, I am commissioning for 'classic' maps (world, Europe, US). So existing line work is publicly available as a starting point. In the future I will be branching out into various genres & styles (hex/wargame, fantasy, space, etc).
Please email promo@cityglow.com with any additional questions, portfolio submissions, & quotes for your time. Initial quotes should be based off work on a single 'classic' map.
I am looking for quotes as soon as possible -- but will be entertaining quotes for some time, as map development will be ongoing.
I will be making selections based off:
1. Communication
2. Your ability to demonstrate an understanding of my design goals (appreciate questions)
3. Quality of portfolio (willing to consider all levels of experience -- but looking for high quality work on this project)
3. Price (but please quote what you think you time is worth)

As you said, with existing line art these can be knocked out fairly efficiently and cost effective.
