Robots?! Nowhere in the rules description are they called robots. I know it makes the game more family friendly, but I don't think the game was designed with swimming robots in mind.
I bought this on your earlier recommendation and I haven't been disappointed. Quick & fun!

The figures are cousins with CMX's Create-A-Men, which are painted to look like humans. (and monsters, aliens, etc.) So you don't have to think of them as robots if you don't want to :-)
The figures were originally called Dismembermen, but that was changed to "swimmers" in the rules for simplicity. For legal reasons, Dismembermen is still mentioned in the legal line on the back of the box.

Well, the robotmartini folks that produce this do mention a persistent robot theme through their games.
Oh, and if anyone is chasing it, the shark is from a Lego #6599 "Shark Attack" set that's fairly easy to pick up on Ebay for a few dollars.
