Quick Summary: Dexterity game for your fingers: like Twister. Fun, in an "appetizer" way; good for a few plays.

Nice review. The quality was a bit better than you're prior offerings, which I greatly enjoyed. I'll pass on the game though.

Good balanced review. It's an interesting mechanic but it seems like size of hand would dictate if you are good or bad at it.

By coincidence, I'd just posted a geeklist about finger games ("Significant Digits...") when you posted this. Grimpe!/Climb! is the first one I had in mind -- its preview stuck in my head due to a childhood connection.

Thanks for this review.

That's what I said at first, when designer Benoit Michaud showed me the prototype. But after playing Climb! with more than a hundred different players, for testing and promotion, I assure you that, as the wise Yoda would says, "(hand) size does not matters".

I saw this game in an REI catalog (REI is a giant outdoor store for those of you who aren't familiar with it.) and came here to see how it played. Thanks for the nice review.

If you've never been rock climbing it might not be apparent, but this is far more than abstract mechanics with an arbitrary theme. Getting as many points of contacts as you can and maintaining at least one of those points while moving other limbs to higher available holds is a great description of rock climbing, and this game looks to capture that extremely well. My wife (also a climber) watched your video with her jaw hanging open as she saw how closely the game followed the practice of climbing.

I've thought for a while about how I would make a game that captures the essence of rock climbing, and this game gets a huge thumbs up for doing just that in an extremely innovative way.
