I am curious as to the treatment of the no opinion votes. In the wikipedia article linked, it states:
Quote: When a given voter does not rank all candidates, then it is presumed that this voter strictly prefers all ranked candidates to all not ranked candidates and that this voter is indifferent between all not ranked candidates. Is this how the no opinon votes will be counted? That is a much different interpretation from "no opinion". Or will they be handled in some other way?

I'll have to let the full list sink in a bit. It is too daunting and yummy to digest in one sitting. But first I'll reread about the 2007 and 2006 awards on the BoardGameGeek Golden Geek wiki.
The tension is already mounting...

That's not how it worked last year, and when the discrepancy was pointed out, Daniel said something along the lines of either they'd fix it this year, or link to a different explanation...and since that's the *same* explanation...
I think it would be nice if the point was explicitly clarified.

I suspect it's an Agricola dominance thing. And the games are lighter this year...? Recall that once you're nominate for this stage, you're out of contention. So some games might still be really good, but they won't be represented on this year's Geekies.

This is outrageous! How did Agricola not get nominated for Card game? It's got what, like 400 cards? And how many does Race for the Galaxy have? That's what I thought.
I'm also very sad to see it not nominated on the Children's game list. I mean, how many other games on that list involve making children? Have you ever tried to win Agricola without making children?
Last, there's the party list. Look, if you're going to throw a party and you're going to play board games, we all know you're going to play Agricola. I suppose it might be more fair to allow these other warm-up games a chance to win, but still, Agricola deserves its turn in the spotlight.
Sarchasm: the (ever-widening) gap between those who get it, and those who think I'm serious.

And it was entirely omitted from the wargame category, when everyone knows Agricola is a subtle allegory on the Russian Civil War.

Very disappointed Wabash and Container are not on this list.

That the gamer's games category is full of non-gamer's games is indicative of the failures of the deomocratic process as it currently exists.
I actually think this would be a perfect place to test out a weighted voting system, where each person gets a vote based upon their actual knowledge.
Otherwise, Settlers or Ticket to Ride might win "gamer's game" next year.

Slightly confusing, rate from 1 to 15 with 1 highest, wouldn’t 1 to 10, 10 highest like normal game ratings be easier? Or is it deliberate to stop people just copying their game ratings?
Oh and
Gamers game 10 Wargame 0 2 player 3 (but only 2 as 2 player games!) Family game 6 Artwork/Presentation 6 Children’s game 1 Card game 2 Part game 3

Ok here we go -
Gamer's Games - Played 4 / Own 3 (must admit some are looking lightish)
Wargames - Played 0 / Own 2
2 Player - Played 5 / Own 4
Family Game - Played 8 / Own 7 (guess that sums me up)
Artwork / Presentation - Played 8 / Own 6 (I do like a pretty game too)
Children's Game - Played 4 / Own 4
Card Game - Played 5 / Own 5
Party Game - Played 5 / Own 4 (Some strange ones in there too)
All in all middle ground I guess.

Most of the games on the party games list felt wrong. Pandemic? Red Dragon Inn? How can games that support up to four players be "party" games? They're both fun games, but they're not party games.
