Dominion is making its way to the online boardgaming site Brettspielwelt.de.
Now if you click on "Dominion-PlayNow!" right now, for some reason it takes you to a game of Stone Age. And it doesn't come up under "Alle Spiele" on the list of available games.
If I'm translating correctly, Spielbox.de is saying that it'll be available after 2000 (8pm). I'm rechecking later today...
EDIT: YES indeed. As stated below, it is now live on Brettspielwelt.de.

Re: Play Dominion online... ?
Very cool. But for a game where the text of the cards matters quite a bit, I'm hoping the cards are translated into English (as well as German).

Re: Play Dominion online... ?
There is no official announcement yet on the BSW pages. According the an announcement at the german spielbox site, it will go live at 20:00 MESZ today. So be patient and wait a few hours.
On BSW, usually all stuff gets translated to english, and some other languages. But it might take a few days until an english version is available.

This may finally compel me to learn to use BSW.

Well there's this on the BSW site which seems to say the same thing:
Mit Dominion erscheint auch dieses Jahr wieder eine heiß begehrte Messeneuheit als Preview in der BrettspielWelt! Start: Montag 20.10.2008 um 20h. Viel Spass!

Re: Play Dominion online... ?
Just did my first 2 plays on a 2 player game. Very innovative mechanism...
I think I'll like it. It makes me wonder if this is going to work for a game or just becomes boring when you played it a few times... but it drags me to find it out playing. Good sign for me.
The interface is not that bad, except that in the german version (haven't tried the english one) there is a missing word "money" on the cards. So a few cards (e.g.:"the tree chopper") just give "+2" without saying that this means "+2 virtual money". So if you see something "+x" without a word like "action","buy" ... behind it, be prepared!

I'm playing my first 4 player game now, and that word is missing too in the english version.

Is there any way to see a log of what people are doing in the game? A lot of times the cards move around so fast that I can't tell what the other player just did.

There's also a bug that doesn't allow the Moat to stop a Thief. Moat seems to work with Militia, but I haven't tried it with any other attacks yet.

I just played 3 games online on BSW. Without shuffling this game is a lot of fun. And addictive!
I'm so glad they made this available online, it's a great advertisement for the game.

Despite the bugs, I still enjoyed learning it tonight on BSW and playing it 12 times in a row. That's saying something as it's coming from someone who generally doesn't like most card games and almost never plays any game multiple times in a row. It was surprisingly addictive. Still not sure how much I like it or whether I'll continue to play much down the road, but I do know that I want to keep playing over and over and over at the moment. Very odd and intriguing game...

Hopefully I'll find out that its a great game for me.
As for the bug with the moat: This is in the german version too, but I wasn't sure if the thief was an attack card (but thought it have to be one).

I expected the game to end when three decks including curses were depleted. Was I wrong or is BSW's implementation wrong?
I also observed: One time, a second library in a turn failing to do anything. One time, moat not stopping militia, though I had done it earlier.
And oh crap, the cards sometimes fly by too fast to see what they are! What an annoying interface.
Amazing game though.

Why isn't it automated? I think with the library in hand (for example), you might want to discard the cards.

This isn't working for me at all - I click on the link for "Instant Play" and I get a pop up window... with nothing in it but a white square with a red 'x' in it (like a jpg is missing, or something).
Any ideas what the problem is here?
Thanks !

Your problem could be the missing java engine or the disabled java option in your browser?

It looks like they made some changes today, and you can mouseover a player to see what they bought on their last turn (although this doesn't tell you what they did with Mine/Remodel/Feast). Also at the end of the game you can mouseover a player's deck to see what they had.

I like that.... if I had to pick one word to describe the game, I think addicting is appropriate.

Bill - That's cool that you can now mouseover to see a player's deck at the end of the game because I'd like to be able to compare sometimes, especially when I get crushed. I've had games where I've won by a big margin, others that were ties or decided by 1 point, and ones where I've been destroyed... in my 12 games so far.

Robert - Yeah, it's incredibly addictive. More so than any other game in my collection. I've never played a game back-to-back-to-back so many times in a row. I guess it's just short enough and just meaty enough to keep me going back for more, at least for now. We'll see how much it holds up over time, but the random setup of 10 cards is certainly fun and would seem to provide a lot of life and variability. I kind of wish there were more different ways to score points, and like the games when the Gardens is an option, but am sure eventual expansions will fill that niche and diversify scoring options, I would think.

Ah, that explains the militia problem. The first time (when it worked), it was my first game and I probably accidentally clicked the confirm button after selecting militia. The second time I just tried to select the militia card which obviously did nothing.
I still know the library problem was real because he ended the library action with only 5 or 6 cards in hand and some cards in deck. Also I'm still curious about the curses counting as one of three stacks.

Yup, that was disappointing especially since I had a deck full of Moats and Gold...

The moat not working correctly makes the BSW interactive game a bit broken. Also I've found that having too many interactive cards makes the game drag on a lot longer. I played a 3 hours game that lasted an hour. Part of the reason was interactive cards allowed us to screw with each other a lot, but weren't very good in actually creating wealth, so building an engine to afford provinces took longer.
