I’m sad to announce that ZeStuff.com will be shutting down tomorrow at noon (eastern time).
In the meanwhile, we have reduced our prices significantly. Each and every item in our store has received a 25% discount or more. Since our prices were very low to start with, this means a saving up to 50% of the usual retail price. Most prices are at or under our cost price.
If you want to take the opportunity and buy a lot of cool stuff at a crazy low price, do so now because the store will be going offline Tuesday November 4th 2008 at noon (again, eastern time). After that time, it will be too late to buy anything.
Thank you so much for your continued support.

just to be clear... you are shutting your site down tomorrow and it will not come back up again? Or just that this sale ends tomorrow and you will be taking down the site for a period of time and then bring it back up at a later date? Reason I ask is your website simply says:
"Save at least 25% on every product in our store! It's the ZeStuff Scary special. This sale ends on November 4th at noon (eastern time)"

It doesn't look like it's off the prices as marked For example, Arkham Horror you have for $32.96, but it's the same price (well close at $33.46) at Boards&Bits which is about 35% off MSRP. I also notice you are in Canada... do the prices listed include the VAT? If so, how much (percent wide) should USA buyers deduct from the price as VAT shouldn't be charged on items being shipped outside Canada.

Distributors in Canada are more expensive. That's unfortunately how things are up there. This is also why it's hard for us to compete with US stores. About the VAT, I have no idea. What I do know is that you shouldn't be charged any customs for orders under $200 because it falls under section 321 (i think).

I think what he means to say is, "Gosh, I hate to hear that another online retailer has bitten the dust! It's a shame that the burgeoning economy and the fickle tastes and financial habits of us gamers has made running a business such a burden. I hope you are successful with your future endeavors."

Is there a way to tell what is still in stock?
For example, it says Battlelore is out of stock, but I see nothing to indicate that other than to click the actual product.

Unfortunately, that's the only way to determine if a product is in stock or not. I realize this is not a perfect solution but I cannot do anything about it right now. I'm sincerely sorry.

Thanks for the notice, and I'm sorry to hear about the store's demise. I just placed a decent order that included some Heroscape stuff and several board games and card games. Even with shipping to Wisconsin (about $13.50), I saved about $15 on a $100 order.

There is no such thing as VAT in Canada, taxes (GST and provincial taxes - if any) are added to the sale price. VAT exist in Europe, not Canada.

If you are in TX and order from NY, you do not pay the NY state sales tax. Due to this it is actually cheaper for someone from NY to order from ON, or from ON to order from NY.. Thus avoiding the State and Provincial Taxes.

NO US TAXES ARE CHARGED TO CANADIAN CUSTOMERS, and NO CANADIAN TAXES ARE CHARGED TO US CUSTOMERS. Not built into the price, not charged AT ALL. Europe has a trade Tariff wall against North American Goods. Canada/USA have FREE TRADE under $200. I know, I have purchased from Canada when in the US and purchased from US when in Canada.

Well, specifically, IF you lived in Canada, it would be added on at time of sale, it is not, like you mentioned, built into the price of a good, like the VAT appears to be in Europe. So, the two are different beasts. GST is a total non-issue for Americans, much like any other provincial sales taxes are to me.

Sorry, but I'm still looking for an answer to my question... if I go into a store in Canada and buy an item that costs CAN$20 and I take it to cashier to buy it is the GST then added to it there, or is the GST built into the price? I'm not sure what you are spewing about Europe and trade tariff... I have placed several overseas orders over the last couple years (from Germany and from the Netherlands) that were well over $200 and have never been charged a tariff. On top of that, since the goods (games) were being exported out of Europe (to the USA) I never paid the VAT (they subtracted it from the prices on their websites which included the VAT). Surely the base poster (owner or employee of ZeStuff I assume) is in a much better position to answer than, and no offense, a "new user" saying "trust me, I know" There are definitely a few good prices on the board games, and for anyone who prefers French language editions they have lots of those (though they are more expensive), and for anyone in Canada where I assume shipping would be cheaper, go for it. It was a little frustrating that "out of stock" items still show up in the list and you can't tell until you click on each item, but maybe that's something they'll address in their relaunch (I wouldn't be surprised they still carry board games afterwards... look at CardHaus!, plus what would they do with all that left over inventory?)

Trying to research it I did discover that is is sadly an issue for Americans visiting Canada... Americans used to be able to get the GST refunded on goods they purchase and then export (take back home) with them, just like for the VAT when Americans (or other non-Europeans) visit Europe.... however it looks like since "April 1, 2007" that GST refund has been eliminated

Just trying to help clear the mis-understanding. Despite being a "new-user" my day job involves moving product around the world (CAN/US - ASIA - North America - Europe) Just wanted to add my expertize in international trade... No offense taken.

Ok, that sucks. I just had several items disappear out of my cart while I checked out.
Yeah yeah, I understand limited quantities and all that, but when something is in my cart, that copy should be off limits while I'm entering my bloody credit card info.
So, I just cancelled my $100+ order.
