First, a little background for those who haven't played yet.

The game is long, and takes a long time to fully explain to newbies (we all
were, and had to go through the rules) but is surprisingly fun. While our
play session turned into a "really long game," it only felt like a "long game" to
us, and folks had a lot of fun.

This is a semi-co-operative game with the humans vs cylons. The humans are
trying to get to Kobol, while the cylons are trying to stop them by either destroying the Galactica, or reducing any one of the 4 resources (food, fuel,
moral, population) to 0. Many of the game mechanics will be very familiar to anyone who has played Shadows over Camelot ( http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/15062 )

Everyone starts out as nominally human (but there may be zero, one, or two
hidden cylons just pretending to be human at the start). Halfway through the
game, sleeper-agent cylons are awakened, and then there will be at least one, or possibly two cylons amidst the players. (5 player game)

In our game of all first-timers, we semi-randomly picked roles. I got the
President Laura Roslyn, Leon got Admiral Bill Adama, Rick got Lee Adama,
Helen got Colnel Tigh, and Todd got Tom Zarek.

Our first two jumps were brutal. In both cases, Saul Tigh, drunk off his ass and holding his liver coming straight from sick-bay, left population behind but saved the fleet by initiating premature jumps. Lee had proven his chops in a fighter, and things were going along as expected. We then had some quiet time and repaired the ship.

After our first jump, the ship was pretty badly beaten up, and we
had suspicions that Zarek was a cylon. As the ship was in such bad shape, even President Rosylyn headed over to Galactica to pick up a wrench and help fix the ship (since we had no engineer).

Later, we got Zarek thrown in the brig at Laura's suggestion, and Tigh's command. Completely coincidentally, the crisis cards were such that we then had
a very quiet full round of turns and an uneventful jump. This triggered the mid-game sleeper agent activation. As soon as Zarek got out of the brig, his crisis card was "Terrorist bomb explodes" which then just happened to send him to the sickbay. Coincidence???

After that, Tigh (who sent him to the brig in the first place) looked deep into his soul (and at one of his two loyalty cards) and pronounced him "not a cylon" to which, Zarek on his turn, revealed himself to, in fact, _be_ a cylon, shot Tigh leaving him in the sick bay in Zarek's place, and re-incarnating on the resurrection ship.

A turn later Tigh ended up revealing as a recently awakened sleeper-agent cylon, leaving the final battle rounds between the two Adamas and Roslyn on the human side, and Tigh and Zarek on the Cylon side. Many close calls, and tough decisions later, and the humans were victorious.

We humans ended up prevailing with very few resources to spare.
