Yes. You keep it for the entire campaign. There is a limit on how much of each type the OL may purchase, but once purchased the points are kept.

You keep the treachery for the whole campaign. If you buy one point of treachery, you can swap out one card of your overlord deck in exchange for a treachery card that costs 1 every time you start a dungeon. Likewise, you can start every lieutenant encounter with a treachery card (or 2 non-treachery cards) for the rest of the campaign.

You keep it for the rest of the campaign and use it at the start of every dungeon (not level!) and every encounter involving lieutenant.

I'm a little confused. Let's say, if the OL purchases one point of purple treachery for 20XP, he then swaps a treachery card for a base overlord card (which goes in the graveyard) every dungeon? So rather than swap ALL 1 point purple cards at the time of purchase, he progressively stacks his deck with the one point cards? Furthermore, is he then required to pay the threat cost to play it?

Thanks

Not quite.

Once you buy treachery you have the option of swapping out cards from the OL deck equal to the treachery value. The base cards do not go into the graveyard, they are just set aside for that dungeon. They return to the OL deck at the end of the dungeon and the treachery cards go back into the treachery deck. At the start of the next dungeon you may swap in the same or different treachery card(s). You do not slowly convert your deck to treachery.

So:
1) At the start of a dungeon, start with the base OL deck.
2) Select treachery card(s) equal to the number of treachery points you have purchased. For example, if you have two Event treachery you may purchase two 1 point cards or one 2 point card.
3) For each treachery card purchased, set aside one OL base card.
4) Play dungeon.
5) After dungeon, remove treachery cards and replace them with the base OL cards you set aside.

Of course, if you like the treachery card you used you can just leave it in the deck for the next dungeon. The key is you can swap treachery cards used each dungeon.

Very helpful. I guess I should re-read the treachery cards, they must be VERY powerful. It seems expensive for the OL. How effective is one treachery card amid all the OL cards? There's an excellent chance you don't even get the chance to play it! I suppose that if you commit to the strategy of buying treachery as OL, eventually, you are packing the deck fairly well at the beginning of dungeons.

Can anyone comment on what they have seen as winning strategies for the OL? Treachery? Lieutenants (burning cities)? Avatar upgrades?
