The German name for the game is a pun on the German version of the film, 'A Few Good Men', which is called 'Eine Frage der Ehre'. This translates as 'A Question of Honour'. 'Ähre' is German for ears (as in ears of corn, not the body part).
So, given the game cannot be called Heartland in English, and following the theme of the 'corny' pun, I suggest calling it:
Spoiler (mouseover to reveal): 'I WANT THE TILTH!' 'YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TILTH!'

Why would a game about farming be named after a crime movie?
The saying "a question about honor" is much much older than the movie.

I confirm that the saying "Eine Frage der Ehre", is much older than the movie. The movie used the saying, and was not creating it!
To stay with the same pun as the German title I would propose:
A question of gloRYe (glory+rye)
So you have the idea of glory and honesty and in the same time a link to the agricultural theme.

Very funny! I love that film, especially the part when Jack Nicholson's character is pushed to that point in the court room. My wife can't watch that scene, however, because Jack's face is so contorted and "evil-looking."
The Germans could also have named it "Irgendwo in Iowa" after their version of the film "Gilbert Grape."

The saying "a question about honor" is much much older than the movie. I agree with you and wasn't trying to imply that the film originated the saying. The game doesn't originate the pun either. My wife told me about the connection and in that half-listening absent-minded way that good husbands can do (!), I didn't bother to ask where she'd come across it. It was actually from Jeffrey Allers himself in the 2008 Essen Canonical list:

Now that I've got the game arriving in the post I was just being rye wry, coming up with equally irritating puns - not to be taken cereally seriously. I was also explaining how the name functions as a pun since the English rules seem to maintain the German name. I've now read why 'Heartland' was unacceptable which is a real shame. So I can't stand the new name but everything else about the game looks good and so I'm looking forward to playing it very soon.

I'm glad the name hasn't
de-tilled deterred you from trying out the game! The theme, after all, definitely goes back to my roots It's too bad, though, that Pegasus did not use my suggestion of recreating Grant Wood's painting "American Gothic" for the cover.
This week, I was finally able to play my published copy with my fellow Berlin designers, who spent many nights over the past 4 ears years playtesting the game. We had a great time and I felt it was well worth the wheat wait.
