Aldie would like to generate a greater response for the polls posted in my recent geeklist. I've extracted the polls and placed them in this thread so that the thread may be pinned.
Below are the original polls. If you haven't already, please take a moment to answer them. If you'd like, add polls and use this thread to discuss the results!
Cheers,
Lankyengineer

Three things:
- the listed political affiliations mean mostly nothing for me: are they all US-based? - the question about how much have I ever spent on a single game lacks the currency: I guess is USD, right? - this is the first time I ever described my hair color as grey. Time passes, things change, not always for the better.

No. The vast majority of those parties do not exist at all in the US (or as very minor fringe parties). They look to be gathered from many different countries. The major US parties mentioned are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Libertarian Party is also a US party, although like other "third parties" is not usually considered a major one (no seats in Congress, no control of any state legislatures, etc).

I guess for some of the "what are you" polls, I wish there was a link to a quiz I could take to make sure I'm providing better answers. Politically most of us would list one of the "big three (at least in the US)... but I'm sure if we REALLY broke things down we'd fall more in like with one of the more obscure broken down choices. Also, I've never taken the test in the first question, and would be interested to.

I would like to see ethnicity. I have a suspicion that non-Caucasians, other than Asians perhaps, are severely under-represented in the gaming scene.
Curious about the following categories, at least (perhaps someone else can do a better job with this):
Caucasian (American or European) Asian (Central to Southeast) Black (African, European, or American) Hispanic (Latin or South American, non-European) Arabian (including Sephardic) Indigenous (American Indian, Hawaiian, Eskimo, etc.) Other (specify)

I'm not sure how widely disseminated it is, but based on what I've read of it, I tend to think of it in the same way I think of astrology. I don't think too highly of astrology.

I'm probably not alone in choosing that option to really mean, "I took the test decades ago, forgot what my personality type is, and don't give enough of a crap to take it again."

CoolStuffInc.com also seems to be missing from the vendor list.
I've sold quite a few cards to them from my long ago M:tG days, so most of my games have come from them in exchange.

Better yet, this 'gender' thing... 979 answers, 928 male. I think the question is redundant.

But whatwhyhow? Is it standard to take the test? Do you take the test in school?

Heron Games in the U.K. and Uncles Games and Empire Games in the U.S. are missing from the vendor list.
With the fluctuations of the British Pound over the last year, I have found some good deals with Heron Games even with shipping to the U.S.

But whatwhyhow? Is it standard to take the test? Do you take the test in school? The article on wikipedia seems to be pretty good. People take it at different places for different reasons. There is no universal requirement as far as I know. We took it at University in the freshman dorm (as an optional activity) as well as a freshman psychology class (required, sort of). There used to be some shortened versions of it available on the internet. I think it's rather interesting, though I'm not sure how useful it is.
There are four different parts of the type (the letters above)
Introversion vs. Extraversion iNtuition vs. Sensing Thinking vs. Feeling Judging vs. Perceiving
This gives you sixteen four letter types. For example, I am INTP -- Introverted, Intuition, Thinking, Perceiving.
Interestingly, if you know what the types mean, you can probably figure out what you are without actually taking the test.

OK everything is in US but the height. We don't use that silly metric system here in the US. Made me do math.

Other should not be a choice. It should be Male / Female / Transgandered (even though most are reassigned at birth) there is no OTHER catagory when it comes to gender. If you area woman trapped in a mans body then your still the Male gender regardless of what you feel like inside Gender is based on the organs you have not if you want to snog men as a man. That is a question below called Sexuality.
