Will this game come as an expansion for Imperial with a new map and new bonds using the many wooden pieces and money from the base game or will it be a stand alone game?

It will be available as a full game both in German (PD) and English (RioGrande), with its own box and own pieces.
For Essen09 we plan also to make a limited offer: You get only the map and bonds (like the Powergrid expansions) for a special price. This should be an alternative for those internationally operating investors who do not want to spend too much money...

Is this limited offer limited to Essen or to a small time period? I'm not going to essen, and I'd hate to buy all the game components again...

The special price for the expansion will be 15 Euros at the booth of PD-games in hall 9 (gameboard, bonds and rules). The components are bilingual, printed from both sides (one side in English, the other in German).
The regular price for the expansion pack will be 18 Euros, for those who cannot pick it up at Spiel 09 and want to order it.
The full game comes in a box with newly designed wooden pieces and money, and should be available at RioGrande as well.

The homepage of the PD-Verlag states that each country will be able to control now 15 foreign territories instead of 10 in the base game. Will the expansion-pack also include 5 new wooden discs for each power to deal with this alteration?

The expansion pack will include 15 small flags per nation printed on cardbord, which will replace the wooden disks. As well you will find the necessary 54 bonds (9 per nation, including a new 30M bond), 6 government ownership cards, an investor card, and the Swiss Banks, all printed on cardboard and bilingual. Armies und fleets from Imperial can be used (although they appear a bit out-of-date designs in the year of 2030). The yellow color is now for the Chinese (who have only 1 shipyard in Shanghai) and the red color is now for the US (who have only 1 armament facility in Chicago).
It is no longer that Britannia rules the waves!

I'm new to Imperial , just have my first game yesterday and its great!
Planning to buy one for myself and find this expansion !!
Just wondering whether the original map will be available as a standalone pack ? Coz I want to have the new components and the new map.
Rather than buying the old version + new maps and components.
Is there a option like buying the new version + old map ?

Ferdinand, you should come to our booth in Essen (9-34) and ask. Sometimes there are incomplete games, especially at the end of the show... I would like to help you, but unfortunately there is no regular way simply to buy the old map!

Gerdts, Thanks for your reply. Sadly I'm not going to Essen this year ( and I DO hope I can !!! )
Seems that what I can do is to buy both of them if my wife allows me.. 
But definitely will fight for that !

What is the method of payment for the Imperial 2030 expansion when using the PD Verlag website? I ordered the expansion but haven't received any information on how to pay (credit card, ueberweisung from a European account, etc.).

I tried twice to contact Rio to see if I could just purchase the expansion kit, and got no reply (via the 'contact us' section of their website). I have not had any dealings with them in the past, but to not even respond to me is odd, to say the least.
If anyone finds out where an expansion kit can be found, pls post here. Thks.
