Yeah, I've been looking into doing a video review or two, and it's not so much that people want "perfect or nothing at all", it's just that the bar has been set pretty high by other vloggers so you need to know what you're going to say and edit the video any time you have pauses or (my problem) fidgeting, or "um". Also, you can cut through some things that you might otherwise have to talk through (such as unpacking the box) to get to the interesting bits. There are a lot of public speaking principles you can apply.
That said, since you have a high school club, it might actually be fun, instructional and useful to involve the kids with the vlogs: have them help craft the script, set up the shot, help edit, demo the game with you, etc. Getting them (and yourself) more experience with public speaking and concise information-presentation would probably help them a lot as they grow.
