Got this at Essen this year and have to say that the game is very fun and very unique. The only problem I have had with the game is well documented on the BGG page for it: the rulebook needs work. Don't get me wrong, the rules are all there, and working very well, but the explaination of said rules in the rulebook leaves a bit to be desired. Thankfully, there have been 2 FAQs released which adress these issues. Further, the deisgners are going to release a new version of the completerulebook that solves many of the issues that folks have had with the rules. SO, game = great and dont let the flawed rulebook detour you from a fascinating game!

"I will take love wherever I find it, and offer it to everyone who will take it. Seek knowledge from those wiser, and teach those who wish to learn." -Duane Allman
The first Beastmaster movie (1982) to be more precise. With Marc Singer as the lead. Not the series or the sequels. Hiding the moat worked surprisingly well! But then it was also full of oil.
I can't help but think about how much cooler this game would have looked if they had taken out the wooden cubes that represent attackers and defenders, and actually made plastic models. I personally don't mind cubes to represent resources, but having plastic models represent people would have been a really nice touch for such a good looking game board.

Considering everywhere has a pre-order for $75, I think they should have went full-turfmaster for the extra $15 and really made it something, myself.
Because, speaking as a guy who considers himself a relatively decent gamer... this seems like ..."Wow, that's a lot of stuff! ...and what a commitment to learning rules, stats, and options. I'll be over here with my Castle Panic...and 4 players....and sub 2-hour playtime."
Yeah, I'm really sick of cubes, chits and counters as game pieces these days.. playing with these makes me feel like I'm playing some ramped up version of a game from the 60's or 70's...or some german game (sorry Germans, but a lot of your games have cubes and wooden toy blocks in all of them)
