Penguin can be a good solitaire card game if you play with a deck of cards (every suit is a color, you just need the cards from 1 to 9).

Shuffle the deck and take the cards one by one. If you don't play a card you have to discard it. When you finish the deck your punctuation will be 36-#DiscardedCards. You can also punctuate your game (from 1 to 9) counting the number of complete levels you get at the end of the game (the first level is complete with 8 cards, the second one is complete with 7 and so on).

You can also replay the discarded cards in order to complete the pyramid but then your punctuation will be #Rounds-1.

Another variant is to hold 2 or 3 cards in your hand during the game in order to choose the best one every time. It's easier but still interesting.
