Ladies and Gentlemen,
As you might've noticed, we had a new feature for this year's con: Jon and Nataline's Crazybooth. Jon was the quiet guy who did all the editing of the photos (a crap ton of work), while Nataline used her mad people skillz to get everyone to perform for the camera. Personally, I think it was a great success. Between Nat constantly taking photos and Jon's many hours of work to sort out the wreckage, it is a lot to ask people to do. So my question is, how much does this add to your con experience...?

It was a lot of fun coming up with ideas for crazy photos.
Even more fun was to be had looking at the albums later. The Geeks were really creative.
You could hear Nat's laughter coming from the booth all day long. I don't know how she kept her energy up like that.
Thank you very much for this amazing addition to the con.

I thought it greatly enhanced the convention, not only for anyone who posed for pics but also those passing by and seeing what was going on in the photo sessions but also for anyone browsing the results online afterward.
Plus Nataline herself is way fun and energetic. :-)
If Crazybooth comes back to next year's BGG.con (fingers crossed) I am -so- going to drag Jeff into the booth for a photo. He usually hates getting his picture taken but if anyone can get him to loosen up in front of the camera, it's Nataline.

I didn't get any pictures taken, but I certainly enjoyed seeing the results. I think it adds to the con's value, even for those that are not attending. It helps the BGG community, and it entices more people to come.
If anything, I'd ask if she could work even harder next year, and get some time to get some high quality, pro pictures of the con floor. As it is a lot of people take pictures, but someone that actually is trying to document the con can do far better.

This was definitely a highlight this year. It was a lot of fun to participate in and see the results of all the ideas. I already have something I want to try next year if they will be there.

I thought it was great! Seeing the pictures on the screen during the con convinced me to get in there and get a pic or two, and while we didn't go in with anything hugely creative, I'm already looking forward to coming up with something fun for next year,
It was so cool to see some of the great ideas that people came up with, and I'm really glad that the photos are available to look at online. It just helps to remind me of how much fun I had.
I hope they had as much fun running the booth as we did getting pictures taken and seeing the pictures!

I thought it was pure genius, not only as a way to get people to participate in a way totally fun and different, but also as a way to see the con and the personality of the community as a whole with each passing slide.
We've been eagerly watching the album posts hoping for more pictures each day.
Kudos to Nataline and Jon and to all the fine BGG folks who made it happen.

To be bluntly honest, except for the one time I walked between the projector and the screen and was nearly blinded, I didn't even notice. I don't go to the CON to have my picture taken nor see pictures taken of others.
This is not meant to be a negative post. The CON has many nice features that others really enjoy that have zero value for me and benefits for me that have little value for others. That's what is nice about the CON; there seems to be something for everyone.

Yep that was 12 Power Grid maps back to back over two days. Worth doing, but possibly not in such a concentrated burst.
Ooh yes, now a little to the left - my nose is itchy. No, no the other left! Now what colour is 12 supporter badge going to be I wonder?

Bloody excellent!
Nataline and Jon are great and so is their work.
Once the photos were being alternated with the GeekBuzz stuff I don't see how people could have possibly failed to notice as they were heading to the main ballroom (unless they were permanently camped out in another room of course).
I think I ended up doing it a few times. The first time Aldie sent me over, another time Tom Rosen I were talking to Nataline and she got the camera out and made] us do stuff. Another time I had the Melissa t-shirt and grabbed a copy of Le Havre (Australian edition) to do some shots for Melissa.
As well as being great fun for people at the con, I know that people not at the con were following picture on-line and enjoying them!
It was certainly optional to participate, but it looked like all the people who participated had fun.
Thanks again Nataline and Jon!

I was sorta confused by it. I didn't know what it was and then when I saw the photos on the geekbuzz screen I thought it was just for Notable Geeks. Nice pictures, though. (Still a bit confused.)

Here's a link to the Crazybooth pictures: Part 1 and Part 2
I loved them! They are a great way for everyone on BGG - including the majority that didn't go to BGG.CON - get to enjoy some absolutely fantastic pictures! I love looking at great pictures, and these are top notch. They convey a real sense of gamers having fun, with or without games.
Please upload these to the relevant game galleries on BGG (the images that show games or game components, that is), so that we can give these pictures the many thumbs up they deserve! They will only enhance the site, and convey something of the fun that can be had when games are around. Many of these images are going straight to the front page! Please?!

I thought the pictures of folks having fun in the Crazy Booth really set off the community feel of the con. It emphasized that we're a giant group of friends that gets together for a good time every year!
Plus, I just liked watching the photos of people doing wacky stuff up on the big screen.

I wish we had this at the Con last year (I had to give this year a miss). I am definitely going next year.... and I would love to pose for some of these. I think it's a great idea. Eventuslly a Geek book could be published! Especially if you can snap pics of the designer guests every year.

If all you want to do is sit at a table and play games, then you can stay home and do that (I should know, due to circumstances, that's exactly what i did this year). And if you want to do that at a con, you can.
But...
I think that the best experiences at a con come from the community, the family, and the experiences doing other things, whether meals out, Crazybooth, scavenger hunts, puzzle hunts, massive games of werewolf, etc. The shared joy and camaraderie are what you talk about later. Crazybooth has the advantage in that the experience are easily shareable.
I would be very disappointed when Noreen and I appear next year, if the Crazybooth were not there.

Yeah, I thought the Crazybooth was crazy successful. However, I lack a certain level of subjectivity when it comes to matters such as this. Personally, I find pics like this to be *much, much* more evocative when it comes to describing what it is that BGG.con does. But I still feel the need to verify such feelings...

Great Addition to the CON!!!!
I'm not generally a guy that likes to be in the spot light, and I got drug to the 'Booth' for some GameInk pictures. Thank God I did... I love em and can't wait to see next year's crop.
As for people not knowing much about it....
Next year there should be more signage and a very comprehensive con pamphlet. The Con is getting bigger on us and it's hard for us multi-year attendees to put ourselves in the shoes of First Timers.
Can't wait for next year!

Agree with all the (positive) comments here -- it was a tremendous idea that definitely enhanced the con experience. I hope Jon & Nataline's Crazybooth returns next year.

I think it added a nice element to the con, and I enjoyed seeing the pictures on the screen as the con progressed. That was a really neat thing. It would be fun to have a similar projection on the wall of the large room so that folks had something to enjoy when it wasn't their turn in games. Nataline does a good job of bringing folks to life.
