In the past few days I've been to several (Austin, TX) Half Price Books stores and found:
Dead Man's Treasure, In Limbo/Diabolo, Think Twice, Bull in a China Shop, Chekov, Cowabunga, Strata Gems, and Kooky Kalooki. All $4.98 or $3.98 new.
There may be others in larger stores/stores elsewhere. I always liked Bull in China Shop and Cowabunga. Today got Dead Man's Treasure - haven't played but nice components. I hope Playroom keeps on going, esp. their Gateway Games series.

Are you saying that they had multiple copies of these games on display, like the displays of Quip It! I see at all four of our metro stores?
If there was only one copy of each you were likely the beneficiary of a trade-in find. I find a lot of new and used games which folks trade in at our Milwaukee metro stores.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. There were actually stacks of each, in shrink, with that barcode price tag they use for their new stuff. (And only one of the three stores had Quip It.)
Around here the trade-in games are dreadful, though my son used to collect the Steve Jackson ones (from their employees?). Today you had a choice of a used Upwords for $8, or an out-of-date trivia game, or a bunch of 1000 (or so) piece jigsaw puzzles. Although I did get a squashed copy of Gumshoe, which I like because can play it solo.

I missed the Half Price book stores in Austin (and Frys).
Since I move back to Florida, all Miami have is bad drivers and over-priced real estate...

I also saw some of those games (pile of them, all in shrink) at one of the Half Price books up here in the Northwest. Looked them up on the geek and they were ranked so low that I passed.

Yeah, I play with kids and non-gamers fairly often, so my standards are lower than most people's. These games are great compared to a lot of others, let me tell you.

The Playroom Entertainment games are great to play with non-gamers who like light games. My family and my parents enjoy Cosmic Cows, Cowabonga, Sitting Ducks, Snow Dogs, and Dead Man's Treasure.
They are all better than playing Yahtzee, Go Fish, and many of the other monotonous card games that my parents seem to enjoy.
I'll have to check our HPB stores to see what we have. Thanks for the tip.

At the HPB in Fort Wayne, Indiana, they had Dead Man's Treasure, Cowabunga ($5.98), Bull in a China Shop ($4.98), Diabolo, and maybe one or two others. (They had multiple copies of all of the above by the way.)

Lemme know what you find Larry. I am hoping our local stores see a few of these. I like Bull In A China Shop and might like others.
Thanks, Christian
