I decided to give eHECK2 another try. There were too many useless things in v1.1 so they would go away. It's time for v1.2. Yep, more frickin layers and more updates to choose from. This time with Babel, Duel and other things you all would like to go inside.

Plan is simple:
1. Two main files with things only from original NSHex.
2. Update for each expansion in three versions:
- files only with new expansion elements
- main files with that new expansion elements
- main files with that new expansion elements and all of previous expanions elements

So from beginning (click images for details and downloads):

Of course it will be nice if you could point me in good direction

Small update with 3 elements from Mercenaries is out - more in this thread.
So now it's time to start making B13 update. List of elements to add can be found here.

Maybe also a Chain Reaction update? Or will that be part of the Duel update?

That's not a bad idea ;) It would be better in one file with other elements or as new one?
I'm also thinking about terrains update but it would be difficult without original images.
And there's a big probability that I would forget something from Babel13 or Duel, because I don't have them ;(

You have manuals online, and me.

Also, terrains update... Eh, it would be pretty nice. Just make some hexes in predefined shapes, like terrains in B13 + some other nifty shapes, and make it able for others to put a texture underneath. Voila, here you go - a terrain is ready.

Since you don't put original unit images in eHECK2, you don't need to put original terrain images either.

Edit: NO. Not in one file.

Chain Reaction cards are of completely different size, and you already complained about eHECK2 files being overloaded with data, making it hard for you to add new things, and for others to use it as a tool. Make a different file for the cards. =P

What about terminals from Duel, can I do something with them?

Terminals are a part of the map itself. There's nothing you can do, besides writing new rules for'em.

I'd think that the same would go for the Chain Reaction cards, unless you want to make new rules for the possible bonuses.

There is a chance that players will make new cards

CRC update - it will be card layout with skills icons. I'm not the one to make new rules - I will just provide creators with new options. There are also icons in eHECK2 that weren't used in any official army but they are based on official abilities (like changing melee attack into gauss attack).

By they way - where can I find descriptions for cards from CRC?

I suggest treating Duel Terminals just like Terrain tiles from Babel.

A good idea. I didn't really think about them in such a way before.

Generally, just make that neon cyan light around the hex's border. Voila, here's a terminal.

They really are an equivalent of terrain tiles - Duel could have just as well come with Terminal terrain tiles to put on the basic board instead of with a new board (but it wouldn't be a standalone game then), and with a scenario with sample setup of the terminals. Recently someone has asked here how Terminals could be added to a multiplayer board with an extra ring.

As for other terrain tiles, I suggest giving each type a basic color, like green for Forest, blue for Water, etc., with a possibility of replacing it with a custom texture.

I was thinking more about images of "abilities" that can be used on terminals, rather than terminal tile layout.

Just keep in mind that creating units, and therefore armies, that play out only on Duel board, is a bad idea.

I don't want to create units only for duel board. I want to create a tool to make new custom "things" that you can do with energy while standing on terminal.

Photoshop, if you have Photoshop or some cash.
GIMP, in any other case.

I'm currently using Gimp to try and see what I can do but whenever I open a file a bunch of the layers are there (somewhere between 50 and 100). It would be a pain to go through all these and deselect them each time. I'm sorry to ask this here but the general web is being of no help when searching for a quick way to deselect all these layers.
