I love your reviews but this is the best yet. Nice job adaption this otherwise non-violent game for you review method.

Roman soldiers are always so happy in their work. I don't think I've seen one who wasn't smiling all the time.
A little creepy, though, when combined with the sword and shield.

Is there a subscription list (or geeklist) for these reviews? I missed your Tsuro review, and I don't want that to happen again.

Love it!
Honestly, this is the first time that I've heard a plausible reason for the "story" of the game. With this in mind, I kind of want to play it again.

I must think over my position and how I may improve it.

Some old fart around here has a saying...I don't remember it precisely--something about brilliance being pure and dead? Anyway I'll let him say it...
But this is most certainly that.

The only thing that prevents Carcassonne from being a truly great game is the absence of catapults.

Thanks again everyone for your generous comments. It is a pleasure to know others are enjoying reading these reviews as much as I enjoyed putting them together.

I will talk to Centurion Maximus and see about getting a Geeklist up this weekend, for the convenience of those of you kind enough to be interested in following our little project. I am going to try to post a review every week, although progress may be somewhat muddled over the holiday season due to an influx of house guests that will probably result in our soundstage (such as it is) being temporarily dismantled. On the plus side, assuming Santa delivers the goods, Centurion Maximus is planning an invasion of Tobago to welcome in the new year.
Centurion Maximus is of the opinion that catapults make everything better, especially Ticket to Ride, which has such conveniently-sized trains.

Yay! I get really excited when I see you've put out a new review, so I really appreciate this. Can't wait for the Tobago review!

This review almost makes me regret that I traded this away. But almost it still is. If I were Caesar, and Carcassonne was pinned down in a gladiator fight, I would give a thumbs DOWN.
Awesome review!
