He's the amiable sort of Emperor, as opposed to the madly-inbred-psychotic sort of Emperor. Although, to be fair, he couldn't quite make up his mind about Fluxx.

I have only played this a few times about a year ago. when establishing the ice flow shouldn't the fish be face down? Or do I remember this incorrectly?

You remember this incorrectly. It's a perfect information game.
I have the impression some people set it up face down as a house rule, or set it up face down "to make it more random" and then turn them all face up, pointlessly making the set up take longer.

Like Board Games with Scott, I imagine those who put so much time and effort into these sorts of things generally want to do so only for games that they like and are excited about

Thanks! I'm honoured. These reviews have been ludicrously entertaining to make and I am extremely pleased that so many other people are enjoying them. I'm a fairly laid-back and intermittent gamer, but the positive responses to these reviews have prompted me to seek out new games and more gaming opportunities to ensure that Centurion Maximus has a steady supply of fresh fodder.
Which reminds me... Centurion Maximus and his men need to get started on this week's review. Tardiness is frowned upon in the Roman army.
