Easy to Learn and Play Quarto is a board game that doesn't need a lot of instruction. In fact, when we first saw the game we wondered what we were missing because the only type of instructions we could see were so short that we thought we must be missing something.
So we just went with what we were given and it turned into a family board game hit. We love to pull Quarto out when we want a quick 2-player challenge.
Great board and pieces Quarto has both a nice quality board and good solid pieces.
Do you have to win to have fun playing Quarto? No. Of course we like to win in head-to-head games. But it’s so easy to just dive into again, that losing one game only gets you fired up to play again. And it’s fun either way.
Is Quarto a good board game for the whole family? You bet. When Quarto gets pulled out for a quick game it tends to attract others to it. We usually get others watching in calling for the next game or to play the winner.
How long does a game of Quarto take? Not long at all - usually around 5 minutes. It’s not as quick as tick-tack-toe, but moves very quickly.
This review was a fun one because while explaining how to select which piece to give Caleb (or how to whittle down the options), Trevor overlooked a potential winning spot. And sure enough, Caleb jumped at the chance for the win. Surprise, surprise!
Kid’s Rating: 9.5/10 (stated as a 5 and a 4.5 Meeple score in the video) Dad’s Rating: 9/10 Very simple to learn, set up, and quick to play with some thinking involved.
