Scott and Erik talk about speed games.

Donald reviews Atlantis and Catan Dice.
Giles reviews American Megafauna.
Erik reviews The Adventurers.

I want to apologize in advance for my mike quality. I got a new one over Christmas and I'm still working the kinks out. It'll get better, I promise.

In the Money!
Let's talk top of the line here: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

What are your three favorite speed games?

I don't really like speed games. However, I would like to try out Space Alert but since one in my game group does not want to play cooperatively I haven't consider even buying it.

Donald, I missed you in the roundtable

Thanks for saying so, but I would not have had much to add. Erik pretty much gave all my possible contributions when he mentioned Santy Anno.

Though I have played some traffic/puzzle game that was a speed game. Come to think of it Speed play is a way to add interactivity to games that otherwise seem solitaire.

Also, Apple to Apples has a speed component - the last person to submit their answer should not get to play.

But really, that's about it.

I like games where I can sit and think a bit. I'm the slowest player in my group but I often win or at least fight for first place.

I think having 3 people discussing something is more interesting to listen too. It's nice to hear 3 different voices and the discussion is more dynamic and colorful. 2 also don't make a roudtable

I think my favorite speed game is Pit, but I'm also fond of Dutch Blitz.

Re: Rythme and Boulet -- I do recall folks playing this game as a drinking game back in college (mid-80's). They called it Thumper. I found a link here
