Really? We must have played this wrong. We had it so that you have to have a Colony AND a spaceship to produce ONE resource, whereas you just needed a factory to get 2.

I like the colony-factory counting as 1-2 respectively with spaceships giving a +1 to the amount. Good thing I watched this review. Nice reviw as always.

1 colony = 1 resource produced
1 ship = 1 resource produced
1 factory = 2 resources produced.

So if you have 1 ship and 1 colony on a planet, you get two resources.

If you have 1 ship and 1 factory, you produce 3 resources.

Thanks for the review Tom.

I usually tend to tell people that Ad Astra is very much like the Settlers of Catan, but without the luck associated with the dice throwing (which really drives me nuts).

I also like the way you program the actions, a bit like Race for the Galaxy, where you will want to guess and count on other player's actions.

I also agree that it can be a bit long, but you can easily shorten it by deciding beforehand to only go to 40 points instead of 50.

Yes, that's what I said. The way we were playing, it was difficult to imagine a resource monopoly strategy (which, trust me, I was gunning for... I ended up losing by about 7-8 points. Now that I think about that, with that handicap, that's not that bad )

Thanks for the review Tom!

I'll definitely avoid this one. Our group would be bored to tears playing this game from your description.

the game is quite nice. given what it is supposed to be.
A game or resource management.
I personally recommend it over other similar games. And the theme is quite nice.
Apparently you do not feel the deep space breeze in your hair(and how could you! ) but you still get a feel of the theme.

Certainly not a boring one...
