Although I try to keep up with Commands & Colors discussions at BBG, I often don’t get here as often as I would like. That said, Kevin Duke alerted me to the fact that there has been some lively discussion recently in regard to some of the Commands & Colors: Ancients Tactic cards, specifically Move Fire Five and Double Time.

Move Fire Move
The best way to think of what is happening when the Move Fire Move card is played is to consider and treat the two movements allowed by the card, as two separate moves. So after stopping for the woods or fordable river, ordered light units could move again on the second move.

Double Time
The focus of a Double Time card is that it allows Medium and Heavy infantry units that normally may only move 1 hex to move 2 hexes and still battle. Auxilia units that already move 2 hexes may now battle when moving 2 hexes. The action of moving 2 hexes and the unit still being able to battle is how Double Time takes precedence over the rule that normally these units can only move 1 hex and battle.

A Double Time card does not allow units to ignore terrain battle or movement restrictions.

Enjoy!

I don't even know what that was a response to, specifically, but cool to see a proactive post from the designer.

I can not avoid to take advantage and ask directly to the author!!!

If you have ever thought to give each army present in the series C & C has its own deck of cards and what are the reasons that led to the solution adopted to date?

congratulations and thanks. Aringarosa

I asked the original Move Fire Move question, so thank you to Richard for posting here with a clear response.
