Introduction
Hello to everyone who might happen to read this. My name is Raiko and I have a little session report here I want to write to you about. About the title - on the 18th of February I had 100 days left to serve my country in the army, so I decided to play a game every day and then write a session about them. You can read them all in the Geeklist Geeklist Project: 100 days left to serve in the army!. For my 28th game in the series I played game called Star Wars Episode I - Attack on Naboo. This is beautiful game, with little strategy possibilities. Well, the game is real dice fest, but still, I kinda liked the game! Now, little more about the game!
The Game
We played with four players and we each chose our colors. I was paired with Priit, and Henrik with Rivo. I was blue, Priit was red, Rivo was silver and Henrik was gold. The first game we had little ideas about the game. After like five minutes the dice rolling got quite boring, so I started actually to place my units and to think. We made some plans with Priit, on how to win Rivo and Henrik. All the plans were pointless, because at some point we all were just throwing those dice to get the 22 needed. It never came. Like 20 minutes just dice throwing, but each time at least one players failed to get necessary sum. So we made little rule modification. We changed the 22 need to 20, so we need 10 with two dice. So after couple of rounds we got it, and just after us, Rivo and Henrik got it too. So the hunt to the princess begun. They reached her first and with their strongest unit, so we had nothing to do, although we tried. And the dice luck was against us too. So Henrik and Rivo got their win over us. We played the second game after that and what we changed, was not teams, but playing colors. I was now gold, Priit silver, and the others red and blue. This time we used notes with Priit, to make some plans and tricks, so here are what we found out turing the game play: * Use your D:5 & A:2 unit to seal your opponent base in. Use your alliance to seal the second gate to the base the same way, so the moving is hard from that base, and concentrate your powers to the second base. Very good tip this one is. We had so much fun with that one, so they had some head ache with us. * Don't step into the Star Wars space before your alliance is near you, because you don't want to seal your movement just by standing there. Just keep your unit mobile, because you never know when that is needed. And that was correct decision. While they both had 2 units sealed, we still had so much mobile units available. * You can use that one base watching unit from above to save your unit very fast. You can arrange that way your alliance unit into your base where you can then move to the gate opening position. That is what we did and when we finally stepped into the Star Wars space. * Another great idea, when other team already is trying to open the gate, just let them, and don't do it by yourselves. Just wait until they open the gate and then move your D:6 & A:4 in front of the gate and just wait. Protect that unit with D:4&A:4 units. This way the princess cannot pass your unit. This one worked until the princess came and attacked us. She lost, but know we were in the same situation as them, but know we started to open the game. Since Princess had defense 6, we had no worries. We opened the gate and won the game with great strategy and plus we kept 2 units always in reserve and didn't let other team choose battles. We chose before them. After that we played few games more, but the game was now mine. They had nothing against this strategy. They tried and had some good luck with dice, but in the end, we won. So this was my 28th game in the series. That means that I have only 72 more games to play. Til next time!
