It could be nice game with some refreshing mechanics, but there is still too little information about it.
Could someone (The Designer?) respond to those questions?
1. There are three ages in this game: Antique i quess, and... What next? Medieval&Renaissance? Industrial&information ages? Does every age has separate deck? Or maybe there is only one historical age (Antique) with some smaller subages (Bronze Age? Hellenes? Roman Empire?)
2. What kind of cards players will dealt with? Wonders? Units? Leaders? Events?
3. When I read that "7 Wonders is a card development game along the lines of Race for the Galaxy or Dominion", I presume, that some expansions are already planned?
4. There will be rather a bunch of different and unique cards (like in RftG), or just multiple copies of the same cards (like in Dominion)
5. Maybe someone could publish some pics or graphics?

There're some graphics of cards (I suppose) just apploaded and accepted.

Just played one game on the prototype (a very good first game with the designer by the way...), here are some tentative "answers":

It looks more like several subages, and the decks look more linked to developpement than thematical historical perdiods. For instance, some strong scoring cards (read 6devs for Race fans, somehow) are in deck 3 only.
DaRealOdi wrote: 2. What kind of cards players will dealt with? Wonders? Units? Leaders? Events?
You start with a yet-to-build wonder which describes some unique "power" you can use when built (ressource, VPs,...). Cards are building, troops, ressource productions, technologies,...
DaRealOdi wrote: 3. When I read that "7 Wonders is a card development game along the lines of Race for the Galaxy or Dominion", I presume, that some expansions are already planned?
I guess we should play the game first before asking for expansions My gut feeling would be that it is doable, probably related to the success of the game itself, and that the game as-is feels really complete.
DaRealOdi wrote: 4. There will be rather a bunch of different and unique cards (like in RftG), or just multiple copies of the same cards (like in Dominion)
Most cards looks to be in several copies in the deck, except probably scoring cards. Not sure about how many copies you get.
It is really an interesting game, with more a RFTG feeling than Dominion, and that accomodates larger number of players (up to 7) while still keeping a good pace due to the way interaction is handled (you interact with your neighbors only, though of course knowing what the others are doing is cool, especially since a large military player will trigger its neighbors to start raisong troops also, meaning you should beware even if not directly concerned).
Really waiting to play it again

Thank You both

RftG and Dominion - as far as I know - were designed as the 'core sets' since the beginning, with quite detailed plan of future expansion.
It's nice to hear that '7 wonders' is basically a complete game. That is the way it should be done (Personally, I don't like the idea of Core Sets and add-ons - it's too deadly to my wallet... )
btw: really cool artworks!

You can go on facebook, where we can follow the devellopment of the game. Look for a 7 Wonders fan page. Lots of french on the site but if you have any question I'm sure they will be able to answer it. I will if they don't do it.

Aside from RFTG/Dominion, How does it compare with Fairy Tale?
From what I've read about the game, it sounds like a more complex version of Fairy Tale (Which sounds great, btw). Does your own wonder's power affect the way you play too much?

Is this in any way related to the 7 Wonders computer game?

The artwork for this game is fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics in the future. This is officially on my radar now.

I tried the last prototype this Weekend.
In my opinion, it could be the next Dominion. It's not out yet but I can't wait for an expansion !

Calm down !

Some people says it looks like RFTG. Probably because everybody play simultaneously, and because play cards that will enable you to play other cards to build up your empire.
I'd say it's rather like Dominion : the main game mecanism comes from the CCG world, but the "deckbuilding" is mixed with the actual game. Moreover, you always have to make a choice between the cards that you will use imediately and cards that will just let you earn some VP.

If this is going to be released at Essen, how does someone not attending usually get ahold of a copy?

2-players rules are not done yet, but Antoine Bauza is working on it.

I'm one of those people who love RFTG but just don't get what's so great about Dominion (haven't tried the expansions for either game). I know there are plenty of people who love Dominion and don't "get" RFTG. And there are lots who like both. Such is geekdom.

BTW I know a lil French, I will take a look at those videos.

By the way, here are the rules we played last WE. I guess they will change before the game is released.
There is probably quite a lot of english mistakes in the following text, I apologize for it.
Quote:
I : INTRODUCTION
Each player has a little individual gameboard representing one of the 7 wonders. Each wonder's contruction is divided into three "steps". On your gameboard you'll find the cost of each step, and the reward you get for building it. Those are differents for each player. Gameboards have two sides : a beginner side and an advanced side.
There are 7 resources : 4 natural resources (Wood, clay, ore, stone) and 3 manufactured resources (papyrus, cloth, ceramic). Both resources types work the same way.
First of all, I am gonna explain you how to use resources : there are no "resource tokens" or anything like that. Let's say that you have built a "clay pit'. I produces 1 clay. With this, you can build a building that costs 1 clay, but you can't build one that costs 2 clays. You don't really spend resources : either you have it or not. If you don't have the resources you need, you can buy the missing ones to your 2 neighbours. One resource costs 2 golds (the game currency, represented by wooden tokens). In the previous example, if one of your neighbours also has a "clay pit", you'll just give him 2 golds (HE CANNOT REFUSE), and built something with those 2 clays. IMPORTANT : even if you have bought one resource to another player, that player can still use that resource and build something with it !
Each player starts the game producing one resource (7 players-7 resources), indicated on his gameboard. Each player receives 3 golds, then the game can begin !
II : THE GAME
The game lasts for 3 periods of 6 turns each. Each period has its own deck of cards. At the beginning of each period, you receive 7 cards. You pick one of them, and give the rest to the player on your left. Then, players play their cards simultaneously.
When you play a card, you have 3 posibilities : - Building the card : You just reveal the card and put it in front of you. Of course, you must produce or buy the requested resources. Some 1st period cards are free. - Builing one "step" of your wonder : You do not reveal the card and put it face down in front of you, no matter which card it actually is. You have to pay this step's price as well. - Selling the card : You discard that card face down, and take 3 golds from the bank. Then you take the 6 cards the player on your right gave you, pick one, and so on...
After 6 turns (6 cards), the period is over, i.e. when you receive 2 cards from your neightbour, you pick one last card and discard the 7th card, face down.
Finally, players compare their military forces. There are cards that give military points. If you have more miltary points than your left/right neighbour, you take one "victory token" that will give you some VPs in the end. If you have less military points, you take one "defeat token" that will make you lose some VPs in the end. Each period has its own victory and defeat tokens (VPs gain and loss gets bigger).
Periods two and three work the same way with the following difference : - During the second period, cards turn around the table the other way round. - Some buildings from the first/second period enable you to build specific buildings from the second/third period for FREE. That is all !
III : SCORING.
It will be modified before the game is realised. But for now, here it is :
- Military : 1 VP for each military point, plus the VP granted by your victory and loss tokens. - Civil : Civils building don't have any other purpose than giving VP. - Science : scientific buildings can give you three types of knowledge points. You gain 7 VPs for each group of 3 differents knowledge points. Moreover, for each type of knowledge point you gain the number of points you have of this type, SQUARED. For instance, if you have those knowledge points : AAA/BB/C, you'll get 7+(3*3)+(2*2)+(1*1) = 21 VPs. - Wonder : Specific steps of your Wonder give you VPs for being built. - Gold : 3 golds -> 1 VP. - Miscellaneous : lots of building will give you special VPs. For instance, there is a one that gives you VPs for each production building you've built. There is another one that gives you VPs for each military building your NEIGHBOURS have built.
That's about it. Are you guys more excited now ?
PS : While writing this text, I came up with a question : should I say "the player on your left" or "the player to your left ?"

Your English is beyond fine. As to your PS, either would suffice.
Great write-up, hopefully there's a high degree of variance in the cards (like RFTG) to keep this one going. Very excited.
