I'm Japanese Pandemic fan. Yesterday(Saturday May 8), I held the "Pandemic Olympic" as "Smallpox Eradication 30th Anniversary" in Tokyo!
http://wiki.livedoor.jp/pandemic_boardgame/d/pandemic-olympi...

10team (30players) played a game again and again for three hours (Introductory game -> Normal game -> Heroic -> Heroic -> Heroic ...). The team competed for the championship with the won frequency and virus eradication times.

They certainly enjoyed playing a game. The winning team made consecutive wins 4 games (no defeat!) and 5 virus eradication in total. Congrats!

Wow, that's a cool trophy!

Those decks you were handing out, were they all in the same order or something? Also, did you have any concern that people might cheat?

All decks are not the same order.
However, the staff shuffled. And Roles was completely controlled. For example the third challenge to a normal game was always Researcher->Dospatcher->Scientist.

The staff is a white coat ;)
