There are 1 artillery unit and 1 infantry unit in an approach. The artillery bombards so it can't attack in the ensuing assault. If the ensuing assault is lost by the attacker infantry unit which is forced to retreat in reserve, can the artillery unit retreat as well or is it forced to stay in place because it's not an attacking unit.
Thanks for answer.

Re: artillery retreat
It stays in place, as would any other units in the approach that did not participate in the attack.
