Found this game due to an article on TouchArcade and tried it out today. Very fun disc flicking race game, with a dash of Mario Kart thrown in. You can play up to four players and the game supports online asynchronous with push notifications. The major drawback to the game is that there is no kind of matchmaking, so in order to play with people online you need their nickname or email to start a race (or they need yours). There are two versions of the game in the app store, a "full" version and a free version. The full version costs $3. The only difference between full and free is that the free version is ad supported. Other than that, they have the exact same functionality.

Copied from TouchArcade forums:
Quote: Here are some important tips :
- Swipe speed and angle matter. You don’t just follow the aiming arrow exactly. You can swipe from the very bottom of the screen to the very top. - There’s an invisible “ceiling”. If you shoot to high up in the air, your disc will burst for lack of oxygen. Or something. - You need energy to use power-ups. You can get energy by: - Moving — it builds as you slide; faster if you’re behind. - Bumping other discs — you get some energy, they lose some. - Knocking a disc off the track — you get even more, they lose all of theirs. - Sliding through a lightning bolt. - You can only use power-ups while you’re moving. - It’s possible to use more than one power-up per turn. - Switch power-ups by pressing the button in the lower-left corner. You can even switch power-ups while you’re sliding. (Icon on your left)
Power-ups are: (Icon on your right)
- Turbo: Boosts in the direction you’re moving so be careful around walls or you could go sideways or even backwards. - Stop: helpful to keep you from falling off the track, or to line yourself up for a jump, or stop yourself after a jump. - Oil slick - Bomb - Ghost: Go through bumpers, obstacles, other discs, oil slicks & water. Bombs break apart if you hit them while ghosted. Will still bounce off the track walls. If you end your turn “inside” an obstacle or another disc, you get reset to your starting position but don’t lose any energy. - Jump

Hope to see some of you online!

It is freaking sweet! Thanks for adding it to your list, I would have but I am a forum n00b.

Now we just need to start a list of BGG usernames!

Feel free to start a game with me: mymil
So others know, the ads in the free version pop up in between turns, and you have to click to skip them. So far they have all been static images without sound.
Also, this game isn't in the VGG database yet... you should add it! Add a video game to the Video Game Geek database

Okay, just checked the game out, not bad...
Is there no way to store the names of other players so we don't have to search each time...? I must be missing something in the settings somewhere...

I hope they add that soon!
I suppose a work-around would be to enter the names into my contact list on my iPod...but I'd much rather have the list stored within the game itself...

Did some experimenting on the special powers and here's my take on how they work.
Your power meter is in the lower right. You gain power dependent on your flick. A bigger flick = more power. You also rob power when bumping into another player. Once your power meter is at green you can use one of the special powers. You choose which power with the button in the lower left. Then actuate the power by hitting the power meter button when your disc is moving.
Here are the powers available: Speed Boost - makes your disc travel faster/farther Stop - stops your disc right where it is when you hit the button Oil slick - makes a disc careen out of control Bomb - if a disk hit it, it explodes and pretty much stops the disc there Invisible - allows your disc to travel through other discs Jump - makes your disc leap up into the air
FYI - the lightning bolt symbol on the track also boosts your power if you run through it.
If anyone experiences anything different please post!

This game is awesome. I'm gonna go ahead and rate it up there with Carcassonne. It's a very good implementation, but the power-ups, and four modes of multiplayer connection (pass n' play, WIFI, Bluetooth, and Online with async (YES!) makes this a GREAT game imo.

I agree that it's really great, but it does have some problems: no storage of "friends", no instructions anywhere I can see, and no way to navigate the track to plan a shot or see where everyone else is.
All easily fixed and I look forward to future updates (and getting home to try this on the iPad).

If you hold down the camera button in the upper left, it will give you a bird's eye view of the entire track.

If you hold the camera icon you get an overhead view. Helps... a little.

I do agree that it's a really good game. But it does have a few (very fixable) drawbacks. But I myself don't think it's anywhere near the quality of Carcassonne...but that's just my very humble opinion.

I sent the developers some emails with suggestions and things that need to be fixed.
they sent back a polite email thanking me for my suggestions, and said they would look into implementing some of them in the future updates they have planned.
Good work guys.
friends list or lack of is a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker. being able to play against random people would be great.
the biggest issues i alerted them to, was lack of refresh button, for when your trying to play those quick games.
also that as soon as a player crosses the line its game over. which is quite unfair if player 1 crosses the line in turn 20, when everyone else has only had 19 turns.
but all in all it's a very fun game, i even bought the paid version.

I agree that the latter is the biggest issue. The former I haven't had a problem with. With push notifications on, I haven't had any issue receiving very fast updates. I believe you can even leave a game open, and when your opponent takes their turn it will show you pretty much immediately.
